Either every human life is important.

Or none are.

None are ... life is meaningless. Stop crying about others and just live it till you fall down in your grave, but make it worth it ^^

I like XKCD too, but I can't agree with your conclusion.
Of course life on earth has no meaning beyond its own existence, so we should live it to the fullest. How could we do that without helping, communicating with, and caring about the only other sentient beings around - other humans?
<What kind of adventure could it be if we had to go alone?

i said it as in mourning and wasting energy and time on the gone and enjoying the living
User avatar #87 to #81 - stallwallwriter (04/16/2013) [-]
Well, I can understand all that. One can't live in the past, but a little time to mourn is natural.
User avatar #91 to #87 - lexausaurusrex (04/16/2013) [-]
mleh depend what your values are situated on and we cannot mourn every strangers the media socialize as martyr... it's a point of view ^^

Big whoop, just everyday **** in ********** countries, just cause it's in america everybody cries about it...
User avatar #40 to #15 - zigap (04/16/2013) [-]
Anon is right... If this happened in some other country nobody would care.

For instance, recently there was a massacre ir Serbia, where someone killed 13 people. I dont think that was even mentioned in the news. And that is not really everyday **** in Serbia, like it is in the middle east.

I remember reading an article about that, it was pretty awful. They have no idea why the guy did it, he just seems to have snapped. It made the wikipedia front page too, as well as being picked up by the AP, so I wouldn't say it went unreported.

Whether it happens in America or Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan or any other place its still a tragedy if someones life is senselessly cut short, no matter how many.

I did, my joke was that "all of the sudden", "a whole nother", "irregardless", and the like were infectious plagues. I see what you did in your comment though.

Look at this white knight
I don't see anyone upset over people dying anywhere else. And it tends to be more horrific in other countries
User avatar #22 to #21 - BroadSword (04/16/2013) [-]
You obviously dont look very hard. I never said this even was more tragic because it was in America...
User avatar #72 to #22 - kroople (04/16/2013) [-]
I think the point here is you don't see posts like this when "tragic" things happen in other countries, but when something like this happens, people can't talk about it enough, news stations devour it like a free steak dinner, etc.

I'm pretty sure three people died. Besides - a human life is a human life, none is worth any more than another.
User avatar #55 to #9 - rainbowomg (04/16/2013) [-]
A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic. This applies here so freaking bad. 31 people die in Iraq ( though **** bro. ) , 3 people die in Boston (my god! what a tragedy! ) . Hypocrisy
#53 to #9 - xxxsonic fanxxx (04/16/2013) [-]
No but that's the point, more people than this die everyday we don't give a **** because it's common place or it's not a big spectacle like an explosion (and we think o hey maybe next explosion we could die) which is the only reason we care
