I just wanna spew some science facts, so **** the red thumbs I'll probably get and here goes: The Velociraptor was actually no larger than the average mid-sized dog. It was the Utahraptor (very creatively named after the state in which it was first found) that was about 7 feet tall and still hunted in packs, creating the evilly smart yet huge Dino that's haunted our nightmares since the 90's. The Jurassic Park Franchise switched the names because "Utahraptor" isn't scary enough, creating one of the biggest cringe-worthy misconceptions in the Science community.

I thought it was the Deinonychus that was the model for the Jurassic Park "Velociraptors", not Utahraptor?

Deinonychus was in the same family as Utah and Velociraptor, but Deinonychus was quickly identified to have had feathers and been a scavenger. Utahraptor is exactly the model they used as Velociraptor in the movies

No Utahraptor is the size that they modeled it from but it was Deinosuchus that they used.

Isn't a bigger misconception in the scientific community the one where people actually think the big bang is a legitemate and factual beginning to our universe? Because people don't understand that that's just a theory and not the widely accepted fact of science as a body.

Pic related: because giraffes.

Actually, in the book, John Hammond created Deinonychus, not Velociraptor. (He was also a huge douchbag instead of the lovable old man portrayed in the movie.) But then he got eaten by compies so everything turned out ok.

That deinonychus could easily have hurt that lady if she really wanted to. That leash, uhh, she could drag that human with her very easily.

Trex's are bigger and have a better sense of smell but because they have tiny arms once they fall down they can't get back up and they wouldn't be good at fighting so they would probably be quite cautious and avoid conflict, Utahraptors would easily win in a fight I bet
