Can anyone please explain me why everyone is so butthurt about EA? I don't have any experiences with its products and I don't follow gaming news.

Simple, barely any of your money actually goes towards development. If EA is just a third party publisher and you're buying the console version at a big retailer, only about $6-9 goes to the developer. EA's making $18-21. Microsoft/Sony are making $12. The retailer is making $12. The other $9 goes to marketing. And then EA has the nerve to try and rip off consumers further with drm and dlc that is needed to enjoy the game.

Well, it's partially our fault as consumers for buying their products, but they're hated for a variety of reasons. For instance, they deliver unfinished games and then drop Day 1 DLC at an extra price. Also, not that they're the only company guilty of this, they have the stupid online passes, pretty much eliminating the point of buying used games. They have been voted the worst company of the year for the second year in a row now

they buy other game companies and runs them into the ground to avoid competition, and they forces the "online to play offline games" thingy

Because it's as cancerous to the gaming industry as Soulja boy is to rap, or 9gag is to the internet. OR ACTUAL CANCER IS TO CANCER **** I DON'T EVEN KNOW. Honestly tho EA is dumbing games down a lot and with that the standard for games goes down and it all leads to a never ending **** storm of bad games, cause well if you don't need to make a good game for people to buy it why should you? Don't get me wrong I understand EA is just a company trying to get it's money and I respect that, but on the other side they're ******* up the I guess culture of gaming. Also I just ******* hate FPS games like battlefield.

Most people would probably say Day 1 DLC's, but seeing as a lot of other companies does that, i'm not going to agree on that one.

Instead i'll tell you about what EA has done during the last centuries, since they pretty much started out. I guess you're somewhat familiar with games in general, and know games like Command and Conquer?
Westwood was originally the producers of the C&C series, untill EA decided to buy Westwood, shut them down, and continue the franchise on their own. No harm here, except for the lots of people who lost their jobs. Then everything went down. They made a couple of good games, like C&C: Generals, although completely unrelated to the C&C universe. But just slowly the quality of the games decreased. C&C 3 was good in my opinion, but the following C&C: RA3 was horrible. They even had to patch it about half an hour after the game was released, since it was so full of bugs on the first day. Then came C&C 4. The game that more, or less, ruined the series totally.

However, C&C haven't been the only games to be ruined by EA. Bullfrog Productions was once a great game publisher, making games like Dungeon Keeper, Populous, Theme Hospital, and the Theme Park series. All games where unique in their own way, but even though they probably where some of the best games of their time, EA decided to shut Bullfrog Productions down, effectively ending all the games.

So i guess to summarize it shortly: EA shuts down good companies, release day 1 patches to fix their broken games, and basically ruins good game series. That's my personal opinion of them.

TL;DR: EA sucks. Hail Westwood.

Newsflash: EA is a corporation. Corporations need to make money, or their investors get pissed. Videogame sales are in the ******* because this generation has gone on for so long, so EA needs to do -something- to not go completely and utterly bankrupt.

The problem is that they realease half the game for twice the money in form of dlc

not just cause of the length of the generation. mobile gaming has been overtaking console which is a huge part of ea software

you're ignorant if you think that console sales haven't slowed and been affected by the mobile game market
