A fear of time running out

Think about it.

Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can' t.
You know the year, the month, and the day of the week. There' s a clock en your
phone, your wall, and in your computer. You have a schedule, a calendar, and a
time for dinner. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. The birds outside are
never late. A dog does not care for time nor does a cat check his watch.
Man metre measures time. And because of this, man fuhrers a fear other creature
endures.
A fear of time running out.

Time is a measurement of distance traveled and entropy gained.

Animals very much have a sense of time, they just do not have a strict measure like we do. Predators hunt only at specific times during the day or night when they are most likely to be successful. Dogs, as social pack creatures, understand the act of aging, and the consequences of it.

My cat has a pretty good idea of when It turns 5... right up at you're feet meowing like crazy till she gets feed... She knows 5 o'clock is dinner time!!

She may not understand that it is 5, but her body clock is damn good at telling her when its that time!!

Seriously, this wouldn't be scary, most people could get used to this, right?

******** . Animals have a sense of time because of seasons, and of nightfall and sunrise as well. They know to get food and get to safety before X happens because I might die. They know to hump as many chicks in the spring because they wont get to in the fall, etc.

I hated it when death suddenly became real to me. For a while i was so stressed about it, i thought about the days where my parents, grandparents, pets, and other people i love died, and i could hardly stand it. Now i have learned to deal but sometimes the realization will come crashing down full force and put me in depression for a few days.

Come on, op, you're not fooling anyone. At least try to give credit to the author, will you?

Pretty sure clocks are used as something other than proof of times passing and our inevitable deaths. Like keeping apointments. Can you imagine the *********** it would be to make an arrangement with people in some time if we didn't have calendars?

You say that "man alones measures time, and therefore he suffers the fear of death".
I don't think this is true. Even if we had no concept of time, we are still intelligent enough to realize that everything/everyone else dies so, logically we must too.

What I'm saying is that we don't fear death because we know what time, date or year it is, or when we are most likely going to die. We fear death because we are biologically programmed to fear it and we are smart enough to vocalize this programming into clear thought. And we keep time because we are intelligent enough to recoqnize time passing.

The two are related, but neither is the cause for the other.

That's my opinion anyway, I'd love to hear other thoughts on it.

no
time exists
just we invented a way of measuring time, it's not the right way, or the wrong way, it's our way though

Because animals don't sleep at night, or eat at certain times during the day, or reproduce only during certain times of the year.
Migratory birds have absolutely no concept of what day or month or season it is. They just fly south whenever the **** they feel like it.

This is the stupidest post of all time.

When the holiday comes around time has no meaning to me.
Wake when i wake.
Eat when I'm hungry.
There are no longer any schedules, only prompts.

Well no.
Animals keep track of time as well, but not like we do, they do it naturally, they grow more hair and gain weight in preparation for winter and so on and so forth, and when most predators grow old and they notice their time coming to an end, they will often do riskier and riskier things.
Just because animals don't keep track of date by use of a calendar like we do, or don't watch a clock, doesn't mean they don't track time.
Look at a dog, every day, even without a person there to act like a signal or anything, will often go to the door to be let out, bird will know when it's time to migrate.

This whole line of thinking is rather flawed, much like saying "Humans are the only animals with marriage, therefore we are the only ones afraid of being alone"

Bitch please, have you ever seen a dog that's been left alone for a day?

Dogs have a grasp of time if you come home at the same time every day dogs will learn and be at the door waiting for you ready before you get there.

And they can sit at the door unknowing that one day you may never walk through that door. They just sit. And wait.

Actually, I don't. The clock on my computer is broken because everytime the screensaver goes on it resets itself to 12:00 AM January 1 2008. I have no idea how to fix it
