Once again that is not Flathead Lake... like i said last time, i drive around it every weekend to get home and once again, if you don't believe me i will take pictures tomorrow on my drive to prove it. THIS is Fathead lake (see picture) it is the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi River. it has almost 200 miles of shore line. Does the picture shown above look like its a huge ass lake? I know it sounds like i got this from Wikipedia, but growing up within 30 miles of the lake gives you a little insight. It is not that clear and it never has been. The picture of the girl on the floaty are taken at Leigh Lake near Libby MT about 2-3 hours north west of Flathead lake. Google that **** and you will see for yourself

If I'm not mistaken it's because of the photic zone right? The zooplankton eating the phytoplankton, which makes it so that the water can be seen clearer.

No, it's because the evil montana lake elves have great kidneys, and they drink up all the water and then piss it back out without any bacteria and **** in it.

Anyone else just want to drag a bunch of rakes along the bottom in a speedboat?

"370 feet is the maximum depth, in most of these pictures, its pretty shallow"

Damn, I spent a week less than 2 hours from there this summer and didn't even know it. That's really really disappointing.

Just a note, in all the places I've been, northwestern Montana is the most beautiful ******* place in the lower 48 states.

But you can see what's in the clear water. Muddy water is what you have to look out for, because you can't see anything and ******* Cthlulu could be down there for all you know.

the first pic is obviously not 370 feet deep. if it was then the logs on the bottom would be a fraction of the actual size... but its still a cool picture dont get me wrong. id do anything to go there

trust me. at 370 ft you wont be able to see to the bottom. Not even completely human cleaned water in a tank 370 ft tall.

Man, scuba diving would be so epic in that lake, never seen such a deep water environment so clear
