Let me get this straight for you guys. Again.
Like every time the 1st edition holographic Charizard is mentioned, you people rush into here with your stories of how you're a proud owner. You are [probably] not. there are many holographic charizards out there, but only the one with the 1st edition logo to the bottom left of the picture are actually worth anything.
Sorry for ruining your excitement from when that yahoo article came out and you thought you hit the jackpot.

You are indeed right, but it should be "only the ons with the 1st edition logo" as 1st edition does not mean the first card that was printed, but the first printing batch.
To clearify, lets pretend that there were a total of 10,000 cards in the first batch. And then lets pretend that there were a total of 5 holographic charizards in those 10,000 cards. ALL of them will have the 1st edition logo.

Just felt like that needed to be clearified, some people tend to think that there are only one 1st edition of every card xD

Not quite as cool, but I have a non-first edition shadowless Charizard. To this day, it's still one of my prized possessions.

all of a sudden, massive increase in mint 'zards on the market. price drops. $20 is better deal.

Would still take the charizard, because **** ya charizard.

your logic is flawed, everyone who chose a charizard and is eager to sell it wont sell it for less than $20
obviously if the let you choose between something to sell and X dollars, the people that choose to sell the thing will look for a benefit

The site's question's does not include what other people have chosen. The questions are meant to be based off of if you were the only person to have the choice; otherwise half of the questions on the site wouldn't even make any sense.

A mint condition 1st edition charizard is worth ~2000 USD. If it isn't mint then it is worth significantly less (like all collectibles.)

Anyone who chooses the money is foolish. In fact, if I were offered a small amount of money vs anything that even has the slightest chance of being an antique or otherwise rare then I would always choose the antique.

Let me guess. You googled "holographic Charizard" and found the first link to that pokemon-card selling site. First edition is what matters here and does indeed make the card worth approximately a ******** dollars.

okay lets settle a few things
1, it's not worth 500, it's worth about 50.
2, it never says what condition it's in
3, the only ones that are worth anything are ones WITH THE SEAL in PERFECT condition, which there are very few.

standard charizard is worth 50 but it is specified that he is a first edition which is worth a lot more (you would never get one in mint condition for less than 200$) and sure if youd like to imagine that he is in crap condition then the 20$ might aswell be handed to you in 100 pieces

Basically, there are probably less than 20 perfect condition first edition charizards that would go for 2 grand, (not 500 your numbers are off)
there are many that are SIMILAR but without the seal that completely destroy the value.
It never said it's one with a seal.

it never said that it wasn't with a seal either and even though it wasnt sealed it can always be evaluated by PSA and then sealed. and those 500$ numbers were only assuming a 5 condition by PSA.
