Especially when it doesn't allow for spaces, or the name you've got in mind needs more letters than that is allowed.

Pic little bit related, it's (sort of) my character in an RPG when I reach highest level.

My bad, I misread his comment. And technically, an RPG from Japan is not necessarily a JRPG. They are 2 different Genres (though some people don't think so): so it's possible that he was talking about JRPGs as a genre (Final Fantasy, Persona, Devil Survivor, Lost Odyssey, etc), rather than simply RPGs from Japan.

The main difference between them is:
1) JRPGs tend to have a set storyline and characters.
2) JRPGs tend to have little to no Customization of characters. Usually at most a palette swap and custom name.
3) JRPGs tend to have anime-esque graphical art.
4) JRPGs tend to have turn-based combat.

Then tell me. Why are JRPGs and WRPGs separate genres? Better yet, why do you think JRPG is a play style rather than a reference to who made it? By that logic, LotR: Third Age is a JRPG just because most JRPGs are turn based.

That is the stupidest argument I've heard. Borderlands has stylized graphics. Like I mentioned earlier. LotR: Third Age is turn based, and I'm assuming you mean changing the look of your character aesthetically. In which case, that's a design choice, and WRPGs have done it as well in the past.
