Depends on where you are. If you live in a city (I live in Calgary, AB) you always lock your doors. In fact we have multiple locks. However in some towns like Moosejaw, SK, my Grandma leaves both her front doors wide open in the summer to cool her house down without any fear of robbery or anything; shes been doing that for like 20 years.

In fact, in some places up north people leave their cabins unlocked year round even when away for the winter. The reason for this is because of native tribes who wander the areas. Lots are looking for warm places to stay, rather than outside all the time for short periods of time. If you lock your door, theyll break in and leave it like that, but if you leave it open theyll come in, use it for what they need and leave it the way they came in as if they were never there.

tl;dr it depends on where you live. If its a city, hell no. If its somewhere else like a town, potentially true.

I didn't realize you meant while we were home, I thought you mean't while we were gone. Almost everyone I know keeps their front doors locked because theres no need to open it, but while were home we never lock our back door, its practically always wide open.

Not when people are home and such. At night I do and when i go out. My city's ranked #21 in Canada for crime though and our B and E rate is over 700 per 100,000 (national average is about 500) so my case might be a bit different. I could see that maybe happening in some of the smaller more rural parts of Canada but not any larger city.

I'm not very surprised. Our homicide rate is 1.6:100,000 and yours is 4.8:100,000 plus you have more guns than we have people, no offense meant of course. I'd probably lock my door in that situation too, but there's relatively little violent crime in Canada so i guess people feel a bit safer(?)

Norway is part of Scandinavia.
Right after Norway, Sweden and Denmark follows in best economic welfare for the average citizen (or whatevertheheck it was).
They're all very very similar.
They all become relevant, because any of them could've been the one in the spotlight of this post.

China and USA has high influence because they think highly of themselves, are HUGE countries, exceptional amount of inhabitants, and the effects of the aforementioned things.

Scandinavia couldn't care less though, because of the blissfull enjoyment that being a smaller country offers when you still get a hold of good economy.

To some degree. With too many people, not a decent enough economy (yet, perhaps), and perhaps too little space, its BOUND to go avry at some points. But don't take things for granted. For example, a lot of Americans want to go to Norway, and vise-versa. Most of the time, the arguments are the same. "Oh but its so nice over there!"

When you look at Finland and Sweden, sure. That's one of the reasons they want Norway to join the EU, so that they can finally add them to the coin.

But WITH Norway and Denmark in the fray, all coloured up and with even the mountains marked out with blooms and shadows here and there, I doubtmost people would agree with you. ^^'

They do sell the US oil and its why the US are on edge about venezuela because Hugo threatened to increase the oil price as less and less was being produced from the refineries. So the US is basically an asshole to all countries in central and south america, mostly latin america for its own benefit, check out Nicaragua from more info. the thing is all of our reasons for iraq were justified. every country in the western world believed they had WMDs. the issue is most people believe WMDs are just nukes when in fact biologic and chemical weapons are in the same catagory. sadam hussein had proved that he has chemical weapons when he used cern gas on his own people. it seems like a lot of people believe anyone will just launch a nuke on a whim.

Then why was an invasion of Iraq deemed completely illegal and a form of international terrorism by the World Court/The International Court of Justice. The British (I'm English) called for the prosecution of Tony Blair as our attorney general said the war would be illegal if we invaded then he was forced to resign. No proof of WMDs was ever found after multiple UN inspections. Yes we did a good thing by removing a tyrannical dictator but there has been even more terrorist groups become active since the invasion and the rest of Asia has a very low opinion of the US and Europe now.

"Do you have WMDs?"
"no go home"

whens the last time the UN actually did soemthing? think long and hard about the last time the UN told a country to stop genocide and inhumane treatment and they actually listened. hell whens the last time a country said **** off to the UN and they shoved a well needed boot up their ass?

im not an expert on asia but do they really have that much room to judge us? memory serves many are dictatorships who censor their population as well as allowing and exploiting the hell out of child labor.

the US invasion wasnt the spawn of a bunch of terrorist groups. the different sects of islam have been waring for hundreds of years.

also if theres such an outcry from the british people why are your soldiers still alongside us? last i checked the UK was still a fairly democratic nation. why havent you guys yanked the ******* out of office till someone says "ok bring them home now"?

Okay listen, clearly propaganda is your strong point.

UN inspection was thorough, they reported no WMDs multiple times, there was no WMDs after invasion

Asia has exploited child labour because of first world/developed countries TNCs! TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS! These exploit child labour! that is developing countries fault, not the underdeveloped countries, they have no choice in the matter.

Al Qaeda is a result of US international terrorism, Al Qaeda before it was called as such was a terrorist group funded and supported by the CIA to terrorise Soviet Union interventions in the middle east, look it up, this is all 100% confirmed. Also as a result of the US invasion into Iraq and Afghanistan there have been alot more terrorist groups arise and gain support. Guys who bombed the bus in UK "I saw the atrocities being committed against my people in my home country and felt we needed to do something about it"

And learn to use ******* google! Tony Blair had a full on trial! The war in Iraq was ANTI-DEMOCRATIC. A massive a majority of the UK did not want to go to war and we haven't pulled out because we aren't irresponsible assholes who **** a country sideways then walk away! We owe it to the people of the middle east to fix our ******* mess! To put it short, you don't walk into another man's house, take a ****, then don't flush.

my friend just got back from deployment and he has a lot of pictures with little iraqi kids smiling with him. the US is getting absolutely no benefit from being over there. soldiers on deployment dont make the government money so why are we there? because were actually doing good. if you insist on it fine starting the war was an evil act but it was an evil act that is leading to good

warisacrime.org/content/new-photos-released-iraq-atrocity-documents-and-video

Have a read and enlighten yourself. Some soldiers are the ******* scum of the earth and are committing horrible atrocities in Iraq, rape, murder, molestation and other crimes. This has caused the rise of terrorism in the area, if you can find the figures have a read.

Yes he was killing Kurds but he has no WMDs.

You can't kick a TNC out of your country if it is generating massive profit and paying taxes (Which most of them don't) The Third World is in $500 Billion worth of debt, they are not in any position to turn down money and companies.

That group of guys became terrorists because they saw what was happening in iraq and got stories from people over there (Another example of an increase in terrorism)

Yes its okay we are still there because we are now there to train police forces, military, set up a democratic government and provide protection. We weren't there for anything like that in the beginning.

The US is benefiting from all the free ******* oil flowing out of occupied refineries, they direct it to allies, making profits and earning favours. The US is absolutely ridiculous, a ******* disgrace of a country and the worlds biggest terrorist group and just because a democratic government (a laughable idea of democracy) and is a superpower no ******* world organisation dares to prosecute them or condemn them, George Bush should have been hung alongside Saddam Hussein.

Yeah and those are your ******* soldiers!

Yes, poison gas attacks, not nuclear or other types of WMDs.

They won't kick a company out that provides jobs and income to their people and country, the TNCs take advantage of this and abuse their rights. Third world countries are in no position to turn down jobs or money.

Yes the UK is a ******* disgrace, we went to iraq with yous, at least we acknowledge that! Millions of Americans are so far up their own ******* arse they can't see the light for the ****. The UK has done some terrible stuff and we probably still ******* are but the US are an absolute disgrace even in the modern world. Nicaragua, Venezuela, Iraq, Afghanistan, Al Qaeda, Cuba, Bolivia and that is just to name a few!! Your government ships prisoners to Egypt so they can legally torture them for information! Our hands are bloody with Iraq and the past but the hands of the American government will forever be bloody with every country they have ****** over which even includes their own people.

The World Court officially ruled America as a terrorist state. Only a matter of time before the people of America become wise to the **** your government has pulled.

Just to clarify, I am not anti-american, I think your country has achieved some fantastic things and has produced some of the greatest intellectuals of all time but your current government and over the past 60-80 years has been run by a bunch of absolute cunts who are only in it to line their own pockets and help their friends. as i said we hate them too. dont use the minority to represent the majority

you completely missed the part about biologic and chemical didnt you? serin and mustard gas are chemical weapons therefore WMDs.

most of those countries you listed had **** leaders theres a venezuelan in the thread who says his country was ****** by its own government not ours. why al qaeda, a terrorist orginization that believed in bin ladens fatwa saying every american man woman and child should be killed, has any right to be anything other than ****** over.

also i find it strange that i cant find a single mention of the world court saying the US is a terrorist state. not even on their website

i have to ask if you have ever read the prince. or at least its main points. government is in an endless cycle of suck because humans are ****. or at least thats what i got from it. thats why we have the special right to remove political officials from office immedietly if we so chose. i dont know how parliment works exactly but im pretty sure it takes more than one person to start a war. why is only one man taking the blame then?

"Most of these countries had **** leaders"

Saddam Hussein, the AMERICAN BACKED leader you mean? You mean the guys the americans put in charge and sold weapons too?

Nicaragua, the AMERICAN BACKED candidate won, country now down the *******

Al Qaeda, the AMERICAN FUNDED terrorist organisation

Venezuela, Hugo Chavez did a good job of running venezuela and raised most of the country above the poverty line, AMERICA FUNDED a coup and supplied weapons. The majority did not approve of this coup and kicked out the american back candidate.

US is a well know terrorist state, ******* google it. Google "America sponsors terrorism"

im just done. you say your not anti american but you are. you hate our government, you hate the people who serve our government and you hate the people who decide whos in our government. you have contradicted yourself multiple times and after i went to the source of your claim you said to look somewhere else.

im going to end with something i mentioned in my last comment. according to machiavelis the prince a king will beleading a country and for years it will be good. when his son is put on the thrown he will see only the power he has and not the responsibility that comes with it. the people sick of the tyrant will remove him and put an aristocricy into place and for years it will be good. the aristocrats soon too will become blinded by theyre power and work for themselves not the people. the people fed up with the abuse of power will rise up and remove the aristocrats from power and put in a democracy. this too will be good for years. eventually however greed and ignorance will corrupt democracy. the people tired of the failed government will remove it and place a king on the thrown restarting the cycle

i hope you have a nice day and realize that theyer are people in this world who are willing to give theyre lives for total strangers and do so everyday

I'm anti american government, your government is a disgrace, the american people I have no problem with as you people are the ones being screwed over by your own corrupt system.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State-sponsored_terrorism#United_States
Bottom of the page, US examples of sponsoring terrorism.

You sit there and defend your government in the face of these facts which disgrace your government, looks like you're just another american who takes everything the media tells him at face value. Enjoy your delusional paradise and pretend like your government its a stain on the world if it makes you happy.

Well drakthaal is generally right. And you can not invade Russia because the russians are going to kick your ass, that's pretty obvious.

how so? the US airforce is the best in the world and it has been proven time and time again that air superiority is key in traditional warfare
