Well it is free for you to play but these types of games simply pull you in and then try their hardest to get you to pay which most people do. So in reality it's not really free and even if you didn't pay for anything someone did for you.

I think it's a by product of larger corporations learning it can easily fool the average consumer to by it's product by telling them they don't have too. Sure you like it and most people are fine with it but I rather just buy the damn game and be done with the charges. Hell I remember when game companies gave you things because they just wanted too instead of asking you to pay for everything. But this is a critical opinion of the entire gaming industry not just FTP games.

I spent 60 dollars on BF3 played it probably 20-ish times. I've spent 5 dollars on LoL and have played it hundreds of times. If I had more money I would buy more champions just so they could get the money they deserve. Many game companies make games that are entirely ****. LoL is actually a good game, that can be "completed" entirely free, but if you spend money it helps you alone. In my opinion thats a lot better than someone shoveling a 60 dollar pile of crap at you without even letting you try it.

Like I've said this is simply criticism of the entire game industry not just FTP games, you may love LOL and I know a lot of people do and there is nothing wrong with that. As far as your battlefield 3 problem that's more complicated. You obviously didn't like the game which I've never played it because I took the smart move and got out of online games like that. The industry as a whole is actually heading for another collapse as video games have become just like the last time grossly similar to one another with many IPS being reproduced and sold as either "new games" or "squeals". These times of games are in fact trash on the entire game industry and I mean they are simply ways to milk money nothing less. Like I said it's about the larger picture in the game industry than just FTP games. Oh and you are wrong you can try every game for free and never have to pay a dime for anything if you know what you are doing.

Dota is definitely not simpler than League. Not saying League is simple either, but Dota has more methods to change the pace of the game and, with the lack of "runes" and "masteries" , the early game is more based on skill than who picked the better stats.

Plus there is only so much you can do in League and once someone gets in the lead, with say five kills or more, then it's pretty much game over unless they screw up.

I do like League though, it's just as fun as Dota gameplay wise, but their Meta needs to change to something more... free.

Hahaha, no early game is still skill based.
Runes and Masteries give you a boost, not win you a lane.

The boost can easily turn the tides depending on what they are; someone with no runes against someone with runes would lose unless the one with runes has no skill at all. Now in an actual match they'd both have runes, but if one has magic resist against a physical attacker instead of armor, then they will be far more crippled than the other.

Also I didn't say the early game didn't have some skill; but comparatively to Dota it's not entirely about skill.

Then they were unskilled; I didn't say it was the /only/ factor, only that it, compared to Dota, is a large factor early game and sometimes late game if you use the "per level" runes.

Started of playing Lol some years ago but later on switched to Hon because my freinds was playing that at the time and even though i was terrible i kept playing because it was more challenging (imo) and therefore more entertaining (imo) and dota 2 is simila but with other heros so i newer felt like it was a fresh game and kept on playing hon.

people freak out when comparing the 2. the most noticeable difference in my opinion is

in league you have a tank and in dota everybody is squishy and can die quickly. also if mana where a source of food league would be a fat american and dota would be some kid in africa.

You want me to tell the REAL difference? I play HoN, but that is a copy of dota, so i know what im talking about. The real difference is that LoL is like CoD and HoN/DoTa is like battlefield. LoL is casual, forgiving and easy to learn. If you die it has no real impact. In HoN/DoTa you lose gold upon death, in addition to missing out on xp while you´re dead. There are alot more strategy involved in HoN/DoTa. You can stack the creepcamps in jungle, so the supports can give alot more to the hard carry. You can pull the lane (giving you more lane control) by stacking a creepcamp that is close to the hard lane. (There is one hard lane and one easy lane in HoN/Dota). You cant spam spells in HoN/DoTa. There is ABSOLUTELY no advantage of having an account that you have played on in HoN/DoTa, but in LoL you get runes that gives you more options as you play alot. (I know its not a big bonus, but it´s still unfair). AND THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT: IN HON/DOTA, THE ITEMS YOU BUY HAS AS MUCH IMPACT AS HOW YOU PLAY THE HERO. So you dont just mindless buy what your guide tells you to buy, you buy items to counter the enemy team.

Im sorry that i had to nerdrage that hard. But LoL really is a MOBA game, just for kids.

jesus christ man. i was trying to put it nicely not like "OMG LOL IS BETTER #YOLOSWAG IF YOU LIKE HoN/Dota2 u r a quer" dear god. i was explaining my personal experiences with dota and league. i dont play dota all that much because my friends dont play it. dota is fun and i will admit i am new to it but atleast i can respect the differences in the 2 and not flame over 1 being superior than the other.

And i just had to point out that there is more difference than you pointed out. And i forgot to mention denying btw. But anyways, I´m glad there is a game like LoL, so the casual kids can play something they are comfortable with. The more hardcore games get a more mature audience then.

Two different games, two different playstyles. Most of the people bitching about one game or the other are more than likely the casuals of the each of the games. In my opinion DoTA is harder, but that is only from playing around 3 games of it compared to the 2500~ on LoL. I'm super jelly of your guys' map and environment though.

I just bought the two champion packs with 50 euros worth of RP, which is around the price of a new game, and download skins on Leaguecraft so as not to buy official skins to save money. If you think about it, dishing out that money for a game you're probably gonna play for hundreds of hours, it's easy to justify your purchase.
