I find it really sad. Maybe because I'm losing my hair myself and I know it's not very pleaseant. But that isn't the main reason. It's the fact that some people can't take it with dignity. It didn't take long to me to "shave" my head (I don't shave it, just cut it really short with the machine, I don't know how do you call that). Instead I'm trying to grow an awesome beard :D
Long story short: don't try to hide it. Either shave your head or leave the hair you have without forcing it. But don't do like that guy, it's pathetic.
