They practically lost though. It's like Germany v. U.S.S.R., the reds may have lost much more but they still won. But eh its my opinion so inserting random bananas.

Ok first of all there is no mention of russians having calvary vs 4,314 ones that swedish emipire had. You might want to check wikipedia for "Hakkapeliitta". Secondly, you can bet your sweet ass that Finnish soldiers were on that fight since Finland was under Swedish rule during that time ;D

How much of you are really willing to put on being on "own turf" when you look both manpower and weaponry. The stats do not even mention Russian superiority on artillery vs Finland.

The main reason to why the russians took extreamly heavy losses during the winter war was not because of finish skill. It was because the Russian army barely had any officers after Stalin decided to kill them off in the great officer purge. Before the purge Russia had one of best if not the best army in the world.

Here is another good example.
There are probably alot of similar ones from the napoeonic wars and also quite a few from the early stages of operation barbarossa.
