"If it was made today" The game titled "Super Mario Bros" was not made today, or even in the past decade.

For all you butthurt people who apparently can't read. That game in the picture is not being made anymore. just because the series has gone on that specific game, is no longer being made.

Nintendo still doesn't pull this crap, unlike everyone else in the gaming industry. All their DLC is enjoyable additions to the games rather than the purchasable shortcuts or pieces that the games don't feel complete without..

having new items and levels changes the way the entire game is played. and super mario bros wii was intended for multiplayer, a first in the series

The fact that they release "a whole new game" just for 1 option, doesn't mean it's not a whole new game, they don't change much.

since you think that nintendo makes sonic, i'm just going to make the wild assumption that you have never actually played these games. the levels have a completely different feel when you play them, they are designed along the powerups in the game, and try to find another "DLC" that more than doubles the amount in a game. you still fail to address my main argument, that galaxy/64, the 2d platformers, the mario and luigi games, the paper mario games, the mario kart games, and the various games like mario party and other sports are all completely different games. most likely because this is counter intuitive to your own mindless drivel that you insist on spewing.

I don't realy care what nintendo makes, since I don't play their games anyway. Lately, I have been noticing that most games, as they release more and more sequels, loose their past selves. Dead Space went from scary, to mild spooks jumps. Mass Effect just ****** up its ending("s"), Crysis went from an awesome game, to a regular shooter with cloak device. The main things that change in Mario are graphics and the gametype - platformer or racing. Even if they keep making new powerups, its just the same thing with a new coating.
As for the part of adding some witty insults on you, I will do so, since you just keep asking for it.
If you wish to play the same old game and just mindlessly follow Nintendo because you loved their games when you were a child, do so. If you are so stubborn that you don't even listen in yourself, I wont waste my time helping you.

If it ain't broke don't fix it you moron. They have a good formula already and they do small things to improve on it each time. Nintendo knows how to do things right.

That is EXACTLY my point. One of my friends complained because The Legend of Zelda was too formulated. I kept saying if they try to do something too different, it will break the system.

Shortly thereafter, Skyward Sword came out, which is a decent Zelda game but it had that ******** "upgrade" system.

Personally I liked the upgrade system in it. It let you make already useful items even more useful. Like a longer flying distance for the beetle as well as faster flying. Not to mention the upgraded damage for the bow and scattershot for the slingshot. It was a nice spin to be quite honest. As long as they don't go full on RPG style after using it then I'm all for it.

As much as I agree with you on this one OP, I'd just like to mention that if Mario was made today it would also not force you to restart the game entirely when you turn off your console, or force you to restart large chunks of gameplay by presenting you with impossible challenges that can only be overcome through muscle memory and a bit of luck, eventually forcing you to restart entirely if you failed enough. (And it was programmed in such a way that you would fail enough)

Old games were scams too, they could only fit like 3-5 hours of gameplay on those things so they made you play the same first 30 minutes 100 times to increase playtime. Kinda like how modern games make you run back and forth between objectives sometimes.

That's why you only find speedruns of old games, new ones take too long.

Hold A and press start at the title screen to restart at the first level of the world you were on after a game over.
