Check if it's legal first, most colleges don't allow you to carry on campus.

I carry my Sig all day everyday; one full mag in the gun and two full spare mags on my hip. Why you ask; well I'll tell you, one will never know which day someone may try to take their life. One will never know which day they may need to save someone else. To single it out to the US is an ignorant thing to say, I am sure your police force carries weapons with them. Are the police afford a great chance or right to defense? Are they not flesh and blood like you and I? I hope the day never comes when I will have to fire my weapon at another human, but I'll be damned if I will let someone take my life and I will not stand idly by while someone else is killed either. It is a choice those of us that carry weapons make, we chose to take on a higher responsibility for are own lives and others around us. You must sit and think..what would I do.

I'm American, and a lot of people have guns but very few actually carry in public. Probably 90% of gun owners have a simple pistol in their homes for night defense if necessary.

Haha, let me explain. Yeah. Take it from a former Canadian resident, who only ever carried a knife originally, a lil spyderco, just to cut boxes, and spare stuff.

In a neighbourhood or area where everyone else has access to a weapon, it's kinda smart to grab one yourself. Not everyone does to be honest, of my family only I carry a handgun, and most of my friends do not as well, but as an ex-infantry, it's nice to know that if some crazy maniac pulls out a rifle and starts shooting up a mall, I can put a stop to it (assuming I'm not the first one shot, I carry concealed).

I'd have to go to court, and deal with the issues of killing another human being, but if I save some innocent family, I'd gladly go through the law system.

Tl;DR, Imagine Edmonton, where handguns are restricted, yet they're still pulled at high school parties.

I'd assume it would be for if the hurricane has destroyed your home/shelter and misplaced wild animals as well, because wild animals could get aggressive and defensive and lash out in such a situation, meaning you may need to protect yourself

What malakii said, sorta. It's for if the hurricane destroys your home/shelter, then you can hunt it down and kill it to avenge your fallen property.

Whoa. I'm actually really surprised at the amount of weapons on there. Scary knowing how many people casually carry around things that could kill me if they suddenly snap.

That's because the soldier's "on-duty" weapons are issued from an armoury, and must be returned. The sidearm pictured is probably a back-up, personal possession brought with him on deployment.
