"Hottest rental"

"rental"

when was the last time you rented a movie instead of buying/pirated it?

I read it as "Rambo XXX" and didn't even think anything of it.

I always loved the computer screens from Star Trek TNG.... 300 years in the future monitors can only display 4 colors and no concept of HD

Yet more proof that people are really bad at predicting what kind of technology will spring up in the future. 10-20 years from now we'll probably see things we wouldn't have imagined today.

They had no idea how home video would've evolved since then.

I am just so amazed at how fast technology evolves. Less than 40 years ago video tapes and cassettes came out. In just ten years cassettes transformed into CD's and video tapes into DVD's. Since then it's evolved into neat, compact, thin and extremely lightweight pieces which I'm positive will morph to become even more stunning feats of engineering.

CD's are already becoming less and less used. Next thing to fade into irrelevancy are DVD's, and netflix is pioneering that.

One of the few things that still makes me happy is the achievements people have the potential to make in such a small time..

The future isn't so bright as they make it out to be really.

Circa 2006 along came Blu-ray. Yes its all nice and crisp and colourful, but Hollywood being the over-protective dicks they are nowadays lock down those discs so much you're not even allowed to take a screenshot of them. Even though you paid for it and physically own it, they even claim you don't own the film. Bollocks

On of my favorite hobbies is going to the library and blowing dust off the VCR's and cassette tapes, mainly because my school hired shitty cleaners, but also because I felt nostalgic from when I used to listen to my grandma's cassettes and watch her VCR movies.

I remember the transformers animated movie from back in the 80s saying in 2005 earth was gonna have autobots living on it.
