Yes, but there is no need to force it on other people.

It's not a balance issue. It's simple. There's weight on the ruler, and it's not secured at either end. This picture is fake.

Every time I see this it's as if my mind splits into two separate thought patterns. The first sees how it works, puts the pieces together and says it's possible. The seconds looks at the point where the ruler and table meet, and says it'd just fall anyway.

It's actually making me feel nauseous, so I'm gonna hit the green thumb and move on.

whilst you balance the ruler at the minimum length on the table, put the rope around the ruler and then slip the hammer through handle side tilting against the ruler and adjust until you find the balance, see, as the weight of the hammer would tip the ruler off the edge of the table the rope allows the hammer to tip rather than fall so the force that the hammer is applying downwards is causing the handle to put equal amounts of force upwards onto the ruler pushing it up as gravity + the hammer pull down, causing the ruler to be balanced. I'm so ******* high right now.......... i would have signed in but i'm too high for this, still gonna thumb it up its still awesome science.

It's actually pretty logical and simple to understand
The hammer head counters the weight of the ruler and centers it on the place where the ruler is touching the table
