cyclops sucks

Most mutant's powers didn't become apparent or develop until puberty
Wolverine was 8-ish
Rogue was 16-ish
Xavier was 9-ish
Magneto was a teenager

well, it's been a while, but if memory serves me right. Scott was running away from an orphanage and ran into construction site when his powers revealed themselfs and as you might guess, shit was chaotic and all that... lucky him, Xarles was around and save the day.

Well to be completely fair, It's the Cyclops they in the movies the reason I hate him, thus my lack of iniciative to look more into the character, So I can't really say I hate him since I know so little about him.

Yeah, the movie cyclops isn't very good. They went with the actor that looked the part. It probably would have been better if they didn't write his character to be an asshole.

The true Cyclops is a badass leader. Think more of Captain America in the avengers movie, but slightly different.

I haven't read X-men comics in a while. But I suppose you could start with X-men Origins: Cyclops. It kinda gives you an insight to Cyclops' origin, as the name implies.

X-men Forever is a great series. Cyclops is awesome in that universe, and nightcrawler is also pretty badass in those comics.

I think it was something closer to what happened to Daredevil, where there was an accident, but instead of being mutated by chemicals, Cyclops' powers simply burst into his conscious mind and saved him.
His eyelids don't burn for 2 reasons.
His DNA is in the Eyelids and the DNA cancels eachother out.
His sight isn't burning as much as it is immense force pushing forward, less of a beam of energy and more of a crushing beam. The reason you see certain comics have smoke after he uses his powers is that there is immense amounts of Friction and when you compress something, it heats up.

Rouge's developed when she was with her boyfriend, I think they were making out or somthing.

It's only cause he's holding his power back so it is only concussive. The beams when at full power do have heat power.

Actually, a powerful enough blunt force could cut something as frail as a cat in half. It'd be like getting run over by a truck.

Or punch a cat in half as you will. The more you focus the beam the more concentrated it gets. It's able to puncture through a steel coin too so it matters how you hit it.

I would guess that his mutation includes some form of laser protection on the inside of his eye lids, so that the mutation does not harm himself

Its simple:No 'super' genetic can actively kill their user.
Say there was a man that uses fire and hes always on fire.
He doesnt burn to death correct?
Or a man completely frozen yet still uses his frosty powers for justice/evil/fun.
So we can draw that the mutations themselfs ensure protection against what they are useing.

I thought he always kept his eyes open, but because he has his sunglasses on the beams bounce off the glasses and back into his eyes continuosly. Then again I don't read the comics either, that was just something I heard

He projects a psyonic field that protects him against the concussive blast of his laser.

His brother Havok isn't affected by his blasts because he has similar powers so I'm assuming it wouldn't work on him either.

Lightsabers don't magically cauterize the entire wound in all instances, first of all. Second, Cycolps' power isn't a laser. It's a beam of concussive force. Basically, he had it so concentrated that it simply cut through the cat like a knife.

Oh, I didn't know that about Cyclops.
