Soo, why would you learn about this in middle school?
I don't know about 'Murica, but in my school we don't learn about things like firearm accuracy/precision when we're 12.

Mhm, I do see your point, that it's not about fire arms. It was silly of me.
How ever, I've done some statistics, a lot of math, one year of physics and two years of chemistry, and I've never had it explained like this before.

You really don't have the right to mock "murica" when you think that the definitions of accuracy and precision are only applicable to firearms. That's like saying that counting is only applicable to apples because your teacher gave you a math problem that involved counting apples.

That was my question as well, and I'm American. We were never taught the technical uses of these terms at all in the 13ish years I went to public school.

Most of them are in middle school...

Quality over quantity

we also covered it in 10th grade Chemistry
and again in 11th grade physics.
We're basically reminded of it every year.
Accuracy and precision was useful when describing and categorizing results from experiments.

That makes sense now, makes my prior science teachers look like twats now.

I did learn this, I'm going to university in 2 years and we learned it with Chemistry, the reason was to be able to tell wether your measurements where accurated and precise or not.
