Emulators will be your best friend. Any game on any old system, basically. If it's the Gamecube or older, you can probably emulate it. Unless it's a Playstation. Those emulators are really buggy and unstable. But all the old Nintendo systems, both console and handheld are available.

Yeah, the cartridges for FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire all had little clocks inside them, and that battery notification is about that clock, because you're using an emulator and that clock doesn't exist.

that, the save type, and several other things i don't even remember had to be changed. i must say even without nostalgia and at this age its a great game...

and what makes it great IS the low bit graphics. This is for all those

judging on graphics means you've missed the point. it's supposed to be gameboy graphics in a 3D environment. that's what most of us grew up with

Wouldn't it be better with high quality graphics ? Nostalgia is made of awesome old memories, let's all live with it, and let the place to something new that we'll be nostalgic about later.

i agree that modern day graphics for a pokemon game would be kickass.

in fact, i'd download it immediately, however what we have here is a game thats closer to that dream than any before (i've seen pokeMMO and its just the original 2D games with other players buzzing around)

this is the first pokemon game i've seen that incorporates that single player exploration. AND has ways to interact with other players without it feeling over crowded.

no game has come this close to combining all that is good in pokemon AND making it 3D.

so for now this is the best thing we have

I looked at pokemon X and Y. We're getting closer to our eternal dream.

also simplicity is another factor.

they've incorporated seasons, different worlds, and so much activites and traits such as beauty contests over the past generation that its taken away that simplistic feel of pokemon.

in my opinion Pokemon 3D brings back that simplicity

the point isn't that its the newest generation pokemon game.

its a revamp of Gold and Silver, modernized and added with multiplayer capability.

It's taking the graphic of the old day pokemon and bringing it to a new life.

also unlike X and Y, its simplistic, with just pokemon and training. no seasons, no beauty contests no frilly stuff.

if you played pokemon gold and silver you would understand

I've played all three, and still do. But, if you didn't notice, the title of the post, in all caps, is "POKEMON 3D".

While there may be "frilly stuff" in the recent pokemon games, I myself haven't touched them. I get the badges, beat the elite four, do the post-game content, etcetc.

Also, what's this multiplayer capability you're talking about? I don't see anything about playing together with other people, any differently than it's always been.

Rather than revamp and bringing it to a new life, it's just doing a First-Person Gold/Silver in 3D. It's still on a Grid, and it's still the same game.

Not that I don't appreciate what they've done, but what I'm saying is A.) The 3D isn't it's selling point and B.) You shouldn't be a prick drunk on nostalgia and assume baseless shit.

It also includes all the pokemon up to 5th generation,

the multiplayer is co-op with one person hosting a game.

berries, EV's, and abilities have all been implemented in the game.

it's still on the grid because thats how all pokemon games run. on a grid.

Then that's Soul Silver/ Heart Gold, + Gen 5, with Gen 2 graphics, but in 3D.

And as to the multiplayer, that's kinda meh. On one hand, I'd rather explore and go through things at my own pace, but on the other hand screwing around in the same pokemon game with a friend would be pretty good too. Kinda 50/50.

Either way, it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. The "multiplayer" is literally the only difference.
