Joke's on you Harvy....

This is the brilliance of the Joker,
The illusion of choice,
He gives Dent the eption to kill him
rig ht then and there, to end the madness
or join its ranks. The choice is simple,
because there isn' t one.
Look at the Joker' s finger.
Even if Dent pulled the trigger...
the hammer wouldn' t fall.
Do I really look like a guy with a plan?"

He just cocks it for him then takes his finger off the hammer so Dent has the choice, just because you found a screenshot with the Joker still cocking the hammer doesn't mean that's what he was doing the whole time.

Even though this is false, it does not take away from the absolute brilliance of this scene that really ties the movie theme together. The Joker talks about the Bad Day Mentality. Basically, it only takes one really bad day to take a perfectly sane man and drive him mad. After something horrible undercuts their grasp on reality and a natural order of things, there are now three options: 1. The world is complete chaos, and the only way to make it fair is by pure chance. Right and wrong actions don't matter, its all up to chance. Thus Two-Faces obsession with his coin and the 50/50 decision making tactic. 2. The world is chaos and unfair, so the way to make it fair is to make sure life is equally unfair for everyone. Thus the Joker's obsession with his origin and his scars in the movie. Life was unfair to the him, creating the Joker persona. The third and final option: The world is chaotic and unfair, but you can distill some order by enforcing justice and doing things that are not only right, but so right they're heroic. This was the Batman symbol that was born in Bruce Wayne. The Joker says at the end of the boat scene that everyone just "needs a little push." The Joker's push isn't noted, but the Joker pushed Dent all the way over to insanity and Ra's pushes Bruce all the way over to his own insanity: being a Bat (dressing up in all black and running around at night beating up criminals. yeah, its bat **** crazy when you actually think about it).

I love Jokers way of thinking and his philosophy. He's such an interesting and well developed character.Without him Batman would be pointless.

This honestly feels like someone overanalysed the movie. Joker wanted Dent to kill him so he'd be a murderer and crush Gotham's last hope. That's why Batman took the blame for his death at the end. So no, this isn't some illusion of choice. But what can I expect of a post from 9gag?

Am I the only one who thought this movie was totally overrated and would have loved to see two-face as the main villain in the following movie?

i still say if the Joker and Bane were able to find a common goal, they'd be unstoppable

That isn't Bane... This is Bane! Throughout that whole movie i only wondered 2 things... 1 where is the venom? 2 WHY IS HE EUROPEAN!? Bane is Mexican or something very close to it, he's the leader of a cartel and distributes steroid like drugs, not some 'agent of chaos babysitter bs' Ugh...
