If the raised price is/was actually real, knowing that someone probably bought the game for their kid or grandkid while thinking they were saving money is giving me a feel.

Pokemon Emerald is $224.99for a new game. Used is $20, but those all probably have their save files corrupted and/or have their internal battery run dry.

My Emerald is perfectly fine.

If only I could find where I left it...

Its very easy to tell apart genuine carts from cheaphonk kong knock offs. Mainly those that corrupts and they'll do it straight away

You could always replace it. There's a shop in the next town over where I live that changes batteries for Cartidge Based games for like 10-20 dollars

I got a used Emerald for like 20 for Christmas and it works perfectly fine. This comment is bull.

One day your internal battery will go bad. It was bad on the used Crystal I bought a year ago or so.
User avatar #26 to #19 - paintmered (03/10/2013) [-]
You can replace the battery.
User avatar #20 to #19 - yutakenusername (03/10/2013) [-]
The internal battery will go bad on any game eventually. Crystal is an older game than Emerald as well.
User avatar #28 to #20 - nightranger (03/10/2013) [-]
Yeah but if i recall correctly Gold/Silver was the one that really had battery issues, I'm pretty sure the other gens aren't as bad with their internal battery running dry

Small explanation for anyone wondering: Pokemon HeartGold is no longer in production, meaning Nintendo does not sell copies of it anymore. The increased price is because some reseller has jacked up the price on new copies, being they are now not limited by Nintendo's recommended price.

wait
what
how are they not selling copies anymore? Didnt it only come out a couple of years ago?
User avatar #25 to #17 - paintmered (03/10/2013) [-]
They stopped making them.

Basic business scam. Tack on xx% off and it all of a sudden looks like a huge bargain.
User avatar #3 to #1 - mylazy (03/09/2013) [-]
You obviously can't read...it was -35% off...which means they added 35%. The ORIGINAL price was 39.99, the new price was 53.90
#9 to #3 - thereforeiamnot (03/09/2013) [-]
I'm not really seeing what comment #1 said wrong. Aren't they pointing out it's a scam because just having "___% off" makes it LOOK like a bargain?
User avatar #10 to #9 - mylazy (03/09/2013) [-]
....A little late to the party aren't we? Maybe you could try scrolling down a bit.

You obviously don't have any reading comprehension skills. What he said is what you just ******* said! He is saying tack on whatever percentage off, even negative percentages and it LOOKS like a bargain.
User avatar #7 to #5 - mylazy (03/09/2013) [-]
Whoops. I kinda feel bad now, for getting him unwarranted negative thumbs...but in my defense he said it in a terrible way. If he had neglected to put in one word, me and all the ohter people that mistook what he said wouldn't have mistook it. That is to say he shouldn't have said "tack on xx% off..." He should have said "tack on xx%". The word off makes it extremely easy to misread the first word as take, and do the natural "illusion of vision" the 99.9% of humans have, assume you are right about what it said. Plus he contradicted himself so....
#6 to #5 - anonymous (03/09/2013) [-]
Actually I see how mylazy made the mistake, but what mrdarp said is still completely wrong for the simple reason that he contradicted himself.
