******** , ADHD doesn't work like that. I have it and people with it don't randomly topic shift like that, if someone does that its because they are an annoying idiot with the attention span of a goldfish not because the have ADHD

ADHD works differently for everyone. I got it, and it does cause me to do things like that. I have conversations with coworkers on a regular basis where I look at an email and then I start focussing on that email more and more, and then I end up answering it instead of continuing the conversation.

And it's quite different from having a short attention span. I can focus on long tasks without having my mind drift at all, but when a task or a conversation drops below my "interest threshold", then it's as if there's this big hand coming out of nowhere, dragging my mind away to another place.

I will admit I had one instance where I got distracted mid-sentence by a squirrel walking on a power line. Also, when I'm on not on my medication, I really can't keep my thoughts straight, they dart around a lot...

so have no attention span doesn't count as an attention deficit? Learn something new every day.
