It took them quite a long time to "okay" aid for the devastated coastal regions after Sandy hit. While it wasn't bad, it did take a while.

Those states werent prepared at all for a hurricane, and even after they were told there was gonna be one they didn't do anything.

That's exactly what I'm saying. If a virus like this ever popped up, I'm pretty sure the military would react pretty quickly with hands on those keys in their missile silos. What I'm saying is, I think they would probably rather use perhaps unnecessary force like nuclear weapons for even a small outbreak than risk it spreading beyond all hope of containment.

If 1/4 of the population was initially effected, (Either from Biological warfare, a plague, or result of fucked up medication) some of them would be members of the military. So immediately the military is already weakened. Other than the current loss in numbers, the panic of people running around would make it hard to spot the difference between the infected and the others. If the infection is the same as in the walking dead, then any accidental killing of people would result in them getting back up as a walker, increasing the numbers further more. Considering people in the military are human as well, they will probably panic and the fact everyone is trying to eat each other affecting their aim, and with only headshots killing, it would cause problems.

Just sayin'. After watching apocalyptic movies I always get pumped up, grabbing a baseball bat, getting to the front door saying to myself: "Fuck yeah, lets get this shit done", then reality kicks in and I feel like topping myself at the boredom of real-life.

Or you know, the biggest border that walkers cannot cross being oceans/seas. Even if that only led to 50% of the military being saved, humans will win easily.

I know zombies are fictional characters, chances are they would bleed out before they starve to death. Same goes, I wasn't saying zombies are fully capable of taking over, I was just pointing out that they could make a fair impact, such as the plague.
The only possible zombie like thing that could happen is an infection such as 28 days later or I am legend.

There have been examples in the past where governments have effectively quarantines villages and large areas. For diseases such a cholera, which would be much more contagious than a zombie virus.

YOU GUYS BETTER START GETTIN FUCKIN EXCITED!

I grab my vehicle and head to the nearest store and ransack the place (I will be armed to kill any fuckers who get in my way)
Then I will proceed to get my best friend (whom Ive grown up with my entire life) and we will then travel the land killing zombies, simple as that.
It's nothing special but there is no way in hell im sitting at home waiting for death. If I have to go out, I'm gonna go out in a blaze of glory mowing down hundreds of zombies, back to back with my best friend (more of a brother really), LMG's in both hands.

Almost like my plan except i was gonna take over a local mall it has a gas station a grocery store and a Canadian tire (Not sure if amarica has much of those buts its like home depo but focused more on cars) baricade all the ground floor doors and windows and hook up a electric fence in between the two set entrance doors (i'm talking about the doors at an entrance of a mall that have more door imedietly after) and only let pepole in we can trust or not at all if i had to go out id go out like Lee

Thats a solid plan, plenty of supplies and mates to keep you company. Two questions though, is just the front door electrocuted or is the whole thing? And you said you would barricade the doors and windows, but with what?

Well in between the doors since there is metal in between them plus if the first baricade was broken it would just shock others to death and i'd baricade it with the spare car parts from Canadian tire maybe add some security by adding a few tables to it the store also has various tools to get the job done and not so big on it but a few guns and good sum of ammo in there to i'd also eat all the food items like meat and vegetables first since they would go bad in a few weeks maybe make a small farm on the roof eventually when food got low

Like I said, solid plan. If the zombie apocalypse ever does happen, I hope I come across your fort of bad-assery one day.
