allow me to attempt to address the butthurt:

i think what OP is trying to say is that the reason our (US's) system is so ridiculously messed up is due to the fact that all our statesmen, who are supposed to represent the people, all come from the same high-business/law backgrounds and really only represent themselves
-moreover, what the US politicians have most in common is the fact that they excelled in business and law - two professions that require a great deal of backstabbing, deceiving, and saying/doing whatever it takes to get people to believe you
-while it is nice to think that we should be leaving our politics in the hands of those who have studied due process of law, etc., leaving the engineers and such to do what they are best at (engineering...), the unfortunate truth is that those professions (lawyer, business itemsistration...) tend to attract a very certain type of person - the kind who will do whatever it takes to gain power
-and then there's the Chinese methodology, which appears to support the idea that the best leaders are the worst politicians; people who go into the sciences are the most brilliant minds yet are statistically less power-hungry, so if they were forced to put their mind and their solid morality to politics, they'd do a much more efficient job of it

that's what I think they're tryin to get across

I hope you realize studying law does not make you a lawyer. At no point in their career were Obama or Biden lawyers.

Just saying after all the political stuff down below me: I can't be the only one that's laughing slightly that the American Speaker's name is Boehner.

Is it possible that because they're lawyers, they might be more proficient in American law? I just don't see how being an electron tube engineer can help a country out (unless he revamps the science program or something)

Wouldn't you want your engineers working on helpful things instead of wasting their time being part of the government?

it makes sense to me that we would employ the scientists in laboratories and hospitals and let the lawyers and politicians make the laws that govern the land. **** me right? i mean you wouldn't want joe biden running the hadron collider, would you?
