well to be honest those religious structures some have been standing for hundreds some for even thousands that space station not nearly as long and it is starting to fall apart also that really isn't architecture that is more of an engineering project or a mobile bus for space studies

They both have different purposes for existance.

Chapels and cathedrals such as the former are there mostly for their artistic prowess, to worship some sort of idol. Its all about the aesthetics. There is absolutely no need for such a large structure to exist in order to worship a sort of god, or multiple gods depending on the religion.

The satelite is about productivity. Science doesn't care how ugly their devices look so long as they work. That's what sciences is about
Learning new things.

Its all about which you like better
Productivity, or aesthetics

This is the most stupid post I've ever seen on Funnyjunk.

I know tons of people have said it, but neither science nor religion built anything.
Architects and Engineers built those buildings and satellites.
And yes they were payed for by those things but weren't built by them.

people think if your religious, you don't believe in science. allot of German scientists were religious, they built rockets that eventually lead to this space station.

TL:DR
you can use religion and science.

I suppose it depends on how you measure greatness.

They're both impressive, leave it at that.

It entertains my to see the atheist pricks fight with the religious pricks to see who's the bigger prick.

Cause the ISS was built by the international human science organisation?

What OP has done is compare a building made for a religion, like really long ago with some thing intended to be made by single countries really recently.
So i propose the motion that OP is a giant ************ and should be vapourised or dismembered by a werewolf. Questions?

Say what you want about religions, but they've got some sweet ass buildings and some ornate jewelry and clothing. It'd be nice to see a religion build something cool again, they haven't done anything big in several hundred years.

Yeah, because the Notre Dame Chapel and the Vatican were totally built using slaves.

Anyone else tired of these atheist/religion posts?

You see this dude? This is Gregor Mendel, one of the greatest minds of Deutch (Germans aren't real) science. He is the father of modern genetics as anyone who finished 6th grade should know. What else is he? A monk. While living in a monastery he performed his experiments with pea plants and proposed his theories on genetics.

He is proof that science and faith are not competitors and never have been. This debacle is an American political invention if anything. Further perpetuated by both angry bigot atheist and nut bag mega churches seeking to lure the ignorant.

More proof? Charles Darwin was a deeply religious man(he wanted to be a priest early in life) and is responsible for modern evolutionary theories.

Even more? www.funnyjunk.com/funny_pictures/4371005/Christian+logic/204#204

Little known fact: Copernicus was a Catholic priest, or at least a deacon. Major inventor of the Big Bang theory was Father Lemaitre. Galileo, who many point to in order to galvanize Catholics(over dramatically), was a devout Catholic till his death. On the microscopic scale, the vast science of genetics and heredity would not be possible without Father Mendel and his peas. The list goes on and on. Not to mention religious schools educated many of the men and women who made these projects possible.

Iunnoh man.

The Hagia Sophia was made before the assembly line and robotics, effectively it was made by hand, and the labor was not slave labor either, since Slavery wasn't a thing in Byzantium.

But the International Space Station is pretty neat too, except that it's not made by man, per sei.

Technologically speaking, Pyramids, Hagia Sophia, and the Vatican, are way more impressive than the space station.

Also. FJ
You're really going to be that ******* stupid again, aren't you? Arguing religion vs science based on Structure. Really. I thought we were passed this.

OH WELL BETTER DUMP MY OPINION.

Personally, imo, what makes a structure great, is based on the means available to build it, and the over all impressiveness of said structure. Aesthetics is pretty big too.
