I keep seeing advertisements from BP on TV talking about how much they've done to fix the oil spill, and it feels like bragging to me

Its like they're trying to completely ignore the fact that they ****** up the **** in the first place

I build those plants and refineries for shell.
They put a lot of money into ensuring that they run efficiently and harmlessly as possible.

i heard a rumour that whenever someone's doing extensive research into cheaper alternative fuels for cars that the oil companies buy it out and hide it away. dunno if its true or not but its pretty shady if it is true

I have masters in environmental management and while no oil company is good for the planet, Shell is probably the least harmful. They have the most stringent environmental standards, have turned down contracts in sensitive areas and have even fired executives that have negotiated those contracts. That's why their gas is so expensive. They are also trying to leave the oil production business and explore alternative, sustainable energy sources. Not saying they're saints, but if someone's going to attack oil companies it should be someone like Esso, not Shell.
