sometimes its downright shocking just how the same idea, the same concept can be posted and people will just keep thumbing it up simply because they agree with it, funny or no.

I should try that. ill just post something like "i support homosexual marriage" and let the easy thumbs roll

One is freedom of speech promised by the Constitution.

The other is something that the Constitution says we have to work out ourselves.

Well since it's free opinion day today, here's mine. Since marriage is a religious ceremony joining two people before God, I don't think it should be a governmental institution due to the separation of church and state. What the government formerly called marriage should be called civil union or civil partnership, and should between any two individuals. Then, if you want to get married for religious purposes, you can do that on your own accord. This way religious people can't bitch about "the sanctity of marriage" and homosexual couples can have the legal benefits they desire. Seems like a common sense simple solution, so it will probably never happen.

tl;dr you'll be "butt buddies"

They do have the freedom to love just not to marry. BIG difference.

How idiotic.

Being allowed to marry, and being allowed to love are different things.

I honestly don't care.
I am a Christian and (rightfully) believe we shouldn't hate anyone. Jesus said love EVERYONE.
I'm sick of religious/political things on this site. I want funny or interesting things, not arguments.

Actually its not illegal to love someone, its not illegal to hate. You can love whoever you want. If someone needs to be married to "love" someone then whats the point? love =/= marriage. I agree gay marriage should be legal, but this pic kinda creates a strawman.

But the freedoms of these groups fall under different categories. The so called freedom to hate is 1st amendment free speech rights, while marriage is not covered in the constitution and is dealt with by state law. Its not really a valid comparison really.

I do concede that the WBC/"other" abuse their rights, but they should still have them. (To the extent of the law of course)
