They are very low for the bottom %47 who pay no Federal Income taxes.
And in the US the top %10 of income earners pay for over %70 of the total taxes.

that's a very jaded way to put it obviously if you say of all the money collected 70% came from the upper class it sounds like the give a lot but in reality it is because everyone else earns so little that their contribution even though only a small fraction of what they earn(12%) is a larger amount. yes the bottom poorest people don't pay income tax but they do pay other taxes.

Well in comparison they do give a lot, they give, by force, much higher percentages of their income than other tax brackets.
My point is to say that the fair share is being paid by the upper income earners.
and because such a large part of the population pays 0 to the Federal government, (also many states have 0 income taxes as well.) it brings the average paid per person down, looking like less is being taxed.

you sir are wrong the upper class pay's 12.4 %. on average the middle class and lower midddle pays 35% . but yes the poor pay nothing because "they have nothing to give".

Not sure if you are still referring to marginal tax rates, or effective tax rates, but marginally over $400,000 pays %39.6, remember this includes many small businesses that have not incorporated. And those who are in the bottom %47 are about $30k per year, not exactly not enough to not pay federal income taxes.
I think tax rates need to be flatter, lower, with less deductions available, however whenever you lower taxes for every one the "rich" will benefit most since they have the greatest tax burden to begin with.
However I think you might be citing Warren Buffet's misleading numbers about taxes, where he compared different kinds of taxes with those he employs. His employees pay payroll taxes, while Mr. Buffet pays mostly Capital gains Taxes, apples and oranges.
Also if you spend and reinvest enough of you money in things that are tax deductible, it lowers your effective tax rate to look unfair.

Using the words "tax loophole" makes it sound as if it is illegal, or circumventing the law some how, when in reality those are in place because the government wants to encourage certain types of spending. With out which, many people would not spend their money in those ways.
In my case I make okay money, but I reinvest much of it in my business, this I am able to deduct, therefore I am able to grow my business, which grows the economy. This is the purpose for many tax breaks, other is to encourage businesses to take risks. I think every ones taxes are higher than they need to be, and the tax code is too complex to be really effective.

the government pls a lot of those loop holes are there thanks to lobbyists and they don't reinvest anything they just siphon money back into their pockets.

Payroll tax, SS tax, gas tax, inheritance tax, sales tax, government created inflation, state tax, automobile tax, property tax, tobacco tax, I'm sure there are more, but you get the point. If you're American, your taxes go to the Federal Reserve... which isn't federal.
If you're not, chances are your government still gives a shitload of your money to banks that they borrowed from, or which needed bailing out after they gambled other peoples money.
Hell, try getting a job and telling them "I dont like banks. I want to be paid in cash please."

That is something I've never heard before. I am aware the Federal Reserve is separate from the government, and I am or was sure tax money goes to the Department of the Treasury.


And you are paid in cash. You can take your paycheck to the bank that issued it and they will cash it for you.

Its not as simple as your cash going straight to the Fed, but government expenditure vastly exceeds tax revenue. They have to borrow the rest of the money, and they borrow it from the Fed.
When you hear about the "debt crisis" do you ever stop and think about who the country is actually in debt to?
Sure, the US owes China a shitload of money, but most of the debt it to our own Federal Reserve. Your taxes are used to pay that debt.

It goes deeper than that though. The Federal Reserve has exclusive rights to create more money which can be put into the economy. Keep in mind most of this money is not even printed. It is numbers on a screen.
So the US Government goes to the Fed and says "OK we need to borrow money please." the Fed says doesnt say "sure, we'll get some from the vault and lend it to you." they press some buttons, and create some money out of literally nothing. They put some numbers on a screen.
By that simple act, the US Government (and by extension the entire US taxpaying population) now owes REAL money to the Fed, who did nothing more than put some numbers onto a computer.
