they had fish. had. He forgot to feed them, so now they don't have fish anymore. Hence the use of had. I actually saw this in newest uploads and commented that this was probably the worst joke ever.

I think the punchline is quite obvious... it's just so bad that you can't believe that's it. That's how I felt at least.

Not this species of catfish. They are active hunters, and quite voracious eaters. Catfish are the last group of animal for which you want to make generalizations; those species considered catfish are incredibly diverse and fill almost every ecological niche in freshwater, brackish, and marine environments.

He's a Columbian Shark catfish. I have two and they both went through this weird phase where they wouldn't eat for months when they turned about one year old. I suspected this was related to their life cycle, as this species of catfish would normally migrate from the freshwater and brackish estuaries where they are born to the ocean around this time. However, I have yet to find any other cases of this happening in captivity. By the way, if you have one of these, make sure you acclimate him into a full- or near-saltwater tank ASAP, they can get some pretty nasty stress-related illnesses otherwise.
