Scumbag hunter

This is sadly the prime example of what a hunter should NOT do and should NEVER show off and be proud of lest the fury of the internet shall be invoked.

As you can see, the image was retrieved from Tumblr originally, while it was then shared around on Imgur and whatnot. Apparently this is blowing up as a large case, and people are making phone-calls to him as well as jumping on his facebook account, giving him a piece of their mind. Although I'm not quite sure how old this is, or just how much the man has paid for it, I'm sure that he really has paid for what he has done here and there and everywhere. Hell, there even is a petition for getting this guy jailtime.

This is rather for the sake of discussion rather than for flaming, although I doubt this would go without invoking sad emotions and a spread of animal-.gifs from you assholes who want to further rub it in. I know you so well.

The link to where I found this is here. imgur.com/gallery/k8GeF

In Montana, using electronic calls on wolves is now legal. I use them because i raise cattle and wolves can tear through a herd pretty ******* quick. they destroy my livelihood. Trying to defend what's mine isn't immoral. Also, if you eat beef in any form and think killing wolves is immoral or wrong, I'd love to show you that you're retarded.

He's not suggesting defending your land/cattle is wrong, he's suggesting luring a wolf off of preserved land just to shoot it is wrong.

Its fine to kill a wolf in defense (ex. if a wolf is killing your cattle), but actively seeking out a wolf, luring off National Park lands and shooting just for fun it is kind of a dick move.

Hunting shouldn't be about killing, it should be about providing for yourself/family either through directly eating what you hunt or selling pelts or whatever.

I dont get the problem, he killed a wolf.... can someone please explain?

You're not allowed to hunt in Yellowstone park, if I remember correctly. Animals there are supposed to be safe to live in their own habitats undisturbed. This man tricked mama wolf into leaving the park, just so he could kill her. He tricked mama by pretending there was a baby wolf needed help. The wolf wasn't vicious, wasn't attack. Just wanted to help a baby.

For all of you that are uneducated about wolves in the midwest, they are desroying the wildife. Elk populations are drastically decreasing and they are dominating all other predators. They are not indigenous to the area. They were introduced there by humans because of increased elk populations due to lack of hunting because of protest from groups like PETA. Now the elk populations are down and wolf populations are through the roof. In case you didn't know, the wolves take and wait for a pregnant elk to start giving birth before they attack it. They then eat the calf as the mother is giving birth to it only after disabling the mothers hind legs. The mother elk is then eaten alive from the rear quarters forward, dying a slow painful death. So yea, if you think what he did to wolves is inhumane, just remember what the wolves do to the area.

I feel like I really should point out how this wolf was drawn out of the protection of Yellowstone Park. This would mean that not only was it within lawful boundaries that were put up to PREVENT culling of their numbers since it wasn't necessary, but the guy was a big enough cunt to decide to go there instead of going somewhere where it was legal to kill wolves as they were in high enough numbers elsewhere?

Rules aren't just rules to be rules y'know. They're for keeping some places as sanctuaries and preventing us from going out on free-for-all's.

Oh and I see your argument, but would it apply to this event with this guy?

This is exactly what pisses me off, not about hunters, but people, they always take it too far, always want the prize even if they don't deserve it. I think ANYONE who would do this should be lured out of their home with their children's cries and murdered brutally. It would be what they deserve, in my opinion. She was a mother, so you not only killed her but her pups! They are protected for a reason not just for funzzies asshole. Ok rant over continue.

Who cares, he didnt beat it with a ******* spiked baseball bat just for fun and leave it to rot. He had the licenses and permits so he had the right to shoot it. His means are ****** but does it really matter, hunters have been using calls for 2 thousand years. Why is this any different

You're right and wrong at the same time.
The wolf was in Yellowstone national park, a place where wildlife should be safe (protected by law, hunting is strictly forbidden there).
This guy, however used a pretty ****** up method to lure a mother wolf out of it's legal safe zone, then killed it.
Logically speaking, he's still a throbbing cunt, although I see your point, you just overlooked the part that mattered.

they are endangered species, also wolfs are a noble and more importantly, Awesome creature. luring one away from a protected area for the kill is just low.

We got a bunch of people from the West Coast tripping balls about this, calling for this man's death or public humiliation.

Meanwhile Miidwesterners are wondering what the man did wrong. xD

Different experiences make for different sets of ethics I guess.... probably one of the reasons why we can't get the federal government to do **** .

User avatar #67 to #64 - fargone (03/03/2013) [-]
because people think that wolves are cute and cuddly (provided you haven't pissed them off in some way/they're not hungry). People on the other hand are lame and kind of annoying.

Please be open minded and look at the other side of things, I'm in a good mood today so I'm going to be patient. For one, people hunt for a reason. food. I hunt, I am kind to people and help wherever i can, I also eat all i can of what i kill and do not waste. Now the asshole hunter in the picture, yes he should probably be shot or punished, that was cruel and unethical. When you say this keep in mind humanity started off hunting to survive, nature isn't pretty, it's a fast and bloody game of survival. Also when people hunt today the animal's death is quick and humane (yes I know there are exceptions but most of the time this is true) I wouldn't take a shot on a deer I knew wouldn't kill it immediately. When it is skinned or eaten it's dead, it feels no pain and it would be disrespectful to the animal for it's death to be for nothing. Also sometimes people hunt for the good of the animals. Sounds crazy but listen, say it's a harsh winter and there will be not enough food for the deer. Some might die a slow painful starving death and just rot in the dirt, but if a hunter shot the deer he would die quickly and the hunter could feed his/her family.

It feels like there is some information missing here. Now anyone who is a hunter should know that hunting on private land without the owner's permission or hunting on national parks is illegal. Drawing an animal off of lands that are illegal to hunt on is perfectly legal. Recently, the wolf population around Yellowstone have risen and they have become nuisance animals and as such, the United States has taken them off the endangered species list.

So, they are legal to hunt, and what he did is by no means illegal or improper of a hunter. Yes, they are beautiful creatures and all wildlife should be treated with respect. However, nuisance animals are taken very seriously because they can do so much damage to the environment and it is the responsibility of the hunter to follow the proper guidelines when it comes to the bag limit, size limit, and season.

ethics and laws are 2 totally differnet thing.

an ethical hunter would not exploit a moms nature for helping the young. we would out smart the wolf... finding out where it crosses into the open range, hiding in the bushed with sent lockETC.

im from montana... where all thsi wolf **** is happining. i have no peoblem with the wolves. to the people saying the wolves are going after the local cattle and **** ... sure tehy might take down a calf or 2... but a LOT of thows ranchers in the golden triangle are ******* MEGA rich. they cna deal with 2 losses to their 700 head.

What's with people and wolves...? It would be just as bad if he had killed some other animal he couldn't eat. Or do we know the reason why he had to kill the wolf?

People just seem to care more about animals these days than our own kind, which is making me pretty mad. **** the children in Syria, a wolf got killed!

american farmers hate them for killing sheep and goats. and they hate the fact that they cant kill the wolfs or drive them away because of their protected status. I personally love wolves, i wish we still had them in England

i found his facebook, he liked this page www.facebook.com/pages/Kill-the-wolves-in-idaho/123432887819975 i can kind of see where they're coming from if they need to shoot them to protect their livestock, but can't they just get better fences? And do they really need to post such pictures with titles "I like this airline, wolves fly for free."

they seem very bloodthirsty and it makes me sad...wolves are cool. They're just trying to survive :(

You guys don't seem to understand the reality of the situation in and around Yellowstone. Wolves are a big problem, to the point that wolf tags have pretty high sales rates. And the bastards are smart enough to know that the park is a no-hunting zone. These ******* go around making trouble for farmers, ranchers, hunters and general non-cityfolk, and then high-tail it back to the park when they get called out on it.
