Y'know, Google could destroy Apple only by not allowing Apple products to use their services. No youtube, no google search, no google maps, no blogspot etc.

A few software developers in my class and lecturers use Macs and ipods etc.
Some of the most ******** gamers i know use macs.
You're just jumping on the bandwagon that it's overpriced garbage used by idiots.
It may be more expensive, but they are not bad products.
I bet you've never owned one.
User avatar #52 to #30 - rummler (03/02/2013) [-]
I have owned several Ipods. And I have played around with a Macbook pro before for about a month. Don't get me wrong, they're smooth, fast, and very fluid like. But my personal preference is Linux. Not because it's free, but because you can do more with it.
User avatar #37 to #30 - whiplasher (03/02/2013) [-]
"Some of the most ******** gamers I know use macs."

Angry Birds and Temple Run aren't " ******** ". You can't be a " ******** gamer" without the means to play...dunno, the games.

Yes, I do imply that is pretty much all Macs can play. What else, except for about 40-50 games that are probably 5 years old?

I have used a mac. It was one of my friends' computer, he said that once I try a Mac I just can't go back to Windows. So I used a Mac instead of my pc for a week and it was INCREDIBLY boring. There were NO interesting games that I haven't played already available. And don't even get me started on the fact that 3DSMax isn't available on mac...and it's a "design software" and people like you always say that Macs are for designing. Well, lolnope. Photoshop and AutoCAD aren't the only design softwares.

Is this ***** serious?
You can play most steam games now, you can now play:
 LoL
Bioshock, Elder scrolls, Fallout. All valve games
BF and CoD
Assasins creed. Amnesia. GTA
Batman, Borderlands, counter strike.
Castle crashers, most Indie games.
And many more. You can also Dualboot so you can GET windows 7 easily.

Yeah, you have no idea what you're talking about
I never said Macs are "Designing" computers. You can easily download third party software for free, as you can on a windows machine.

The only Battlefield you can play is 2142, the only CoD games you can play are the first 2, 4 and Black Ops, the only GTA games you can play are Vice City and San Andreas, the only FO games you can play are 1 and 2(which are the best, though) and the only BO game you can play is the first one. Now excuse me while I enjoy the rest of the good games you're missing out.

Also, why dualboot and not just get a damn pc?

> Implying I don't have a gaming PC

And why not spend a tiny bit more (Seriously, people have a problem on the internet spending a bit more for luxeries) and have a Mac and PC?
My friends work for their stuff. So why should it matter what they spend it on?
I have a Ipod. Love it. Apple aren't bad people.
User avatar #47 to #46 - whiplasher (03/02/2013) [-]
Didn't say a thing about the iPod. I'm asking you why have a Mac? Is there something you can do on a Mac and you can't, on a PC?
User avatar #48 to #47 - Jameshaich (03/02/2013) [-]
I use a mac a lot at college. my friends have them.
I do not. But the main point is about Apple not macs.
What can a PC do that Macs can't? Because i assume bootcamp allows you to run windows and IOS. Meaning it can do the exact same as windows, and more.
User avatar #49 to #48 - whiplasher (03/02/2013) [-]
Software ran through Boot Camp require better hardware and it's often buggy. Also, Macs are way more expensive than PCs. You probably hate hearing that, but it is true. A pc can do everything a Mac can do, on a lower price.
User avatar #50 to #49 - Jameshaich (03/02/2013) [-]
They can do basically everything the same.
Except one is a tad more expensive and looks nicer (depending on your taste)
I don't see the problem that if people have the money, they should be able to spend it.
The one gripe i DO have with macs, is that they're not as easily customisable.
User avatar #51 to #50 - whiplasher (03/02/2013) [-]
You're right, if people have the money to buy macs, let them by macs for all I care. I fail to understand why, but that's okay. Let us end this in a peaceful manner.

My argument is just that you pay a lot of the design. Much more than you actually should, of course it is a good computer.

Now you tell me which one your prefer to use.
User avatar #15 to #14 - stuartbewbzz (03/02/2013) [-]
For what? I prefer my Macbook for my college work, browsing the internet and just other general things like torrenting. And I prefer my Chromebook for when I'm on the go because of the cloud sharing facilities?

Allow me to ask you 1 question.
Have you used any product running the Android platform?
User avatar #17 to #16 - stuartbewbzz (03/02/2013) [-]
Yes, why?
User avatar #18 to #17 - rummler (03/02/2013) [-]
Which platform do you prefer?
Android or Apple IOS?
User avatar #19 to #18 - stuartbewbzz (03/02/2013) [-]
Sigh. Again, for what? I use an iPhone 4 as my general everyday phone and my HTC Desire for tethering and launching Tor.
User avatar #20 to #19 - rummler (03/02/2013) [-]
Your average everyday use.
User avatar #21 to #20 - stuartbewbzz (03/02/2013) [-]
iOS then.
User avatar #22 to #21 - rummler (03/02/2013) [-]
Alrighty, listen.
I had assumed that you were another Apple sheep. Buying Apple products simply because other people were buying them.
However, when you started using terms like Tor and tethering, in all honesty, I was surprised.
Allow me to ask you yet another question.
Have you ever thought about using Linux?
User avatar #23 to #22 - stuartbewbzz (03/02/2013) [-]
No, because I don't have any need for it. And thank you for recognising that not all Apple users are ***** . It's just the minority who got their parents to buy them a Macbook so they could sit in Starbucks and look like total douches.
User avatar #29 to #23 - TheMather ONLINE (03/02/2013) [-]
I'm afraid those are the majority, not the minority. There's a reason only computer geeks and multimedia technicians knew about Macs until hipsters started buying them.
User avatar #24 to #23 - rummler (03/02/2013) [-]
I completely get it man.
A year ago I "found a way" into the schools network and blocked off every single IP address except for mine. When the schools IT guy found out (about 3 hours after I started the so called "attack"), instead of punishment, I got put into his advanced computer science class.
Now everyday that I come into school, I get questions like, "Dude, why don't you have a Macbook, or an Alienware?". And the simple answer is, "I'm not willing to pay for what I need. I'm fine with my Dell Inspiron with a Core i3 and 4 gb ram. There's no need for any more than that."
And of coarse they're lost by the time I get to the processor and ram. I just run into so many sheep daily, I thought that there wasn't a single Apple product owner that had a single brain cell.
You have restored some faith in Apple for me today.
User avatar #25 to #24 - stuartbewbzz (03/02/2013) [-]
Glad I could help, and awesome! Back in high school me and some friends "acquired" an MD5 hash of a load of passwords for the school's network and brute forced to get the items password. The items password was something like 25 times weaker than the standard for a school network.

Long stort short: We used it to play Minecraft and enable a few proxies in our accounts.
