That's true but only because courts examine the entire circumstance of the assault and one of the things they take into account is attackers size relative to the victim. I.E how much threat the person actually posed and what the reasonable amount of retaliation is. The reasonable force part is there to prevent people from beating the shit out of someone for something like a hand gesture or rude words. If a woman were to hit a man for no reason or even if slightly provoked the man has every right to strike her back with reasonable force if he feels threatened. He does not have the right to beat her up though not unless she poses a threat to his life. www.lawyers.ca/statutes/criminal_code_of_canada_assault.htm Section 34 of the Canadian Criminal Code deals with assaults, and at no point is there a clause or provision making it illegal for a man to strike a woman back, because Canadian law doesn't differentiate between genders besides to examine their potential for harm.

I agree and I also live in Ontario but even with the charter/laws when a man attacks a women(even if it's self defense) he will look like the bad guy most of the time.

I don't like violence of any kind but women hitting men for some reason is socially accepted(in cases where a woman slaps a guy, kicks him in the balls, use tazer or pepper sparys on him) even in cases where women abuse men in relationships aren't taken seriously because of this.

This may be a totally different case but when women go into a mans washroom it's okay but a man in a womans washroom(even by accident) he's instantly a pervert.

A friend of mine said that most feminist want equality but want to keep the advantages/benefits their gender gets.
