I used to love Holocaust survivor stories, I must have read at least 7 different ones. Every one was an amazing story, the scariest stories I've ever read.

Through that logic, God gives them nothing.

He doesn't selectively give you some things, but not others. It's all or none.

The logic I was going for is that God had given man free will, and the actions of man weren't directly given by God. People may not agree, and I don't believe they have to.

That works for you, but not for the people that claim that God does them special favors and grants their requests, but isn't responsible for other things as well.

Same same story here. The few who actually read it liked it, I don't read books except for usually ones in class and I must say 'Night' was an awesome novel.

I can handle a bit of depression. And otherwise I'll just take a long time reading the book.

Eh, it may be a fast read. It's depressing, but it's also very interesting. Apparently, when he war writing it, he boiled it down to a 200+ page book out of the original 800 pages worth of horrifying shit he had remembered. Some things were omitted for his own personal emotions (i.e. the death of his parents)

I guess he didn't want to shock people too much...

Actually, the photograph was taken by soldiers after the camp was liberated. And that is indeed Elie Wiesel. I'm not a big fan of Holocaust stuff, but Night was actually pretty good.
