Here's the deal. I don't believe in religion, there's too much scientific and historical facts that tell me there is no god regardless, religion is not the most terrible thing in the world. In some of the good ones, every once in a while you'll come across a good, lets say a christian, who believes wholly in his religion. He'll preach about real life situations and use wonderful analogies to teach life lessons. Hidden inside all the hallabalooga are messages that do help teach you to be a better person. Not that I need to be taught the difference between right and wrong, Im not all knowing and sometimes i do learn something. Kind of like the motivationals we get on funnyjunk so much.

It might not be THE worst thing, but it is pretty darn close. I used to "believe in believing", that religions are not bad, just misused. However, I have recently stumbled upon hard evidence that it deals far more harm and should be casted out entirely. Most of the finer pointers can be achieved by laws and philosophy anyway.

Where did I specify Christianity in that post?
If thou art referring to "It might not be THE worst thing, but it is pretty darn close.", then take notice that I speak about religions in general later on.

Over half the world's population claims to be either a Christian or Muslim.
Now while those two abominations might be the most violent, all religions share the same devastating trait - they promote blind belief and incorporate children.

for the most part i agree with you. but sadly thats not how the world works. every little stagnant gene pool town i've ever been to has strong ties to some kind of christian church. thats what happens when people are deprived of travel, they become ignorant to the world and its history.

i can assure you that religion exists. you should know that it is proven that their are over 20 internationally recognized religions! that might come as a shock, but believe you me, they are even in YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD! CHRISTIANS! MUSLIMS! HINDUS! SHINTOISTS! THE CHOSEN PEOPLE OF ISRAEL! RELIGION EXISTS!

now if you were trying to say you do not practice a religion, or you are a man without faith in a higher power, than guess what? theirs a group for that too!

But seriously, its ok to not have faith in a higher power. Just don't be one of those assholes who throws **** in peoples faces for believing in a God or Gods. Those are just as bad as asshole Catholics or Muslims.

I don't banter about not having a religion. when i hear someone speak about their religion and state a historical fact falsely i bite my tongue and listen politely. im saying i dont believe in a higher power but i dont care if that makes me an athiest, or an infadel. I prefer to stick to learning all about the little bit of universe around me. ~PEACE~

that works, and I respect you for that. I don't quote historical facts. I tend to stick to bible verses when discussing religion with like-minded people. I don't spend my time forcing people like you to try and see things my way friend. It takes faith to believe in a higher power. some people do not have faith, or are not willing to 'take a leap of faith.' and I don't hate anyone who has different opinions than mine. keep on keepin' on, buddy.

I, too, don't believe in religion because I just don't want to. I don't believe there is a "higher power," so I won't.
But I try to be a good person.

I'm not saying cut off your wife's nose and ears because you saw he feet by accident, those are products of man attempting to gain power and control by using the peoples' faith. Learn to decipher other nations gospel and search for the lessons that make you a better person not the ******** from 2700 years ago or whatever.

An opinion would him be saying "My bed is comfyer then yours because it is"...or in christian terms "my god is real cuz i say he exists".

Opinion: A view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.
Fact: A thing that is indisputably the case.

That said, you don't know I'm actually on my bed. However, using Google's definition of opinion and fact, we can conclude that it's not an opinion. I could take a picture of me on my bed if that'll help you.

The scientific method sets the standard for fact at verifiable proof from multiple sources....If YOU saw HIM on HIS bed, that is PROOF through verifiable evidence that he is on his bed....aka you are proving the fact that he is on his bed by viewing the evidence of him on the damn bed.

Philosophy does not change fact, Opinion does not change fact. Fact cannot even change fact (as that would be paradox).
