I've always imagined what would happened if you scared the female porcupine while they mated (assuming they do it the same way most four legged mammals do it - mounting). Mainly because the quills are launched out of them so I pictured the quills of the female launching the male porcupine and it getting stuck in the tree because of his own quills.
