To be fair, diamonds are pretty fucking amazing not just for its aesthetic purposes. They're really good conductors of electricity and they're durable so no lubrication is needed and it resists wear. Plus, they're created from high amounts of heat and pressure from under the Earth.

Now I could be wrong.
My knowledge of conductivity is hazy at best.
But I'm pretty sure diamonds are terrible conductors of electricity, due to their rigid atomic structure.
Even if diamond is a conductor, I'm completely certain that it's magnitudes worse than silver, copper or even aluminium.
