The origin of the typical heart shape ( <3 ) is the image of two human hearts sewn together vertically, see how one side gets smaller toward the tip and the other side is rounded, when paired with another it creates the "typical" heart shape.

In a biology class I had once we had to cut open a heart and from a certain angle it looks like a children's heart.

But it was a pig heart and still looked pretty far off.

If you look at it from the front when it's sliced open, discount the aortic arch & vena cavae and it sort of resembles the little image..until I took anatomy I didn't get how either

wasnt the heart originally based on a birds eye view of a girls ass? so the two curves at the top are her butt cheeks, and then they kinda just taper the other bit? dunno who told me this, could be crap :)
