Not only that, the best Story ever, not only the best Incest-Story. God, you have no Idea, how much I love you right now. Up to now, nobody I talked to on here knew the Children of Hurín. To me, it´s the most awe-inspiring Book ever written.

Yep, I´ve read hundreds and hundreds of Books, but nothing can compare to this. The Ending was just...well, you see, I can´t even describe it :D Tolkien is a God to me.

I loved the Silmarillion, too. Well, okay, I loved everything by Tolkien, but none of his Books touched me as much as The Children of Hurin, it was such an amazingly beautiful Story. When reading the "Turín Turambar turun Ambartanen"-Piece, concerning his Grave and Nienor Niniels Suicide, I teared up, and I never tear up. I can easily say that all of Tolkiens Works are incomparable to any other Writer, but Children of Hurín was easily my personel Favorite.

I've been collecting all of Tolkein's works. What's this one about?

This one is about the children of Hurin that is being pulled through Morgoths twisted visions only to be released into psychological torment.

I was kinda hoping for an in depth desciption rather than something so simple.

Ow, well, its about Hurin and mainly his two children (the third one died). Hurin is enthralled by Morgoth, being forced to watch the faith of his children and wife as they unfold (He is given Morgoths vision and chained on a mountain). Hurin is captured during the great war, and wild easterlings comes and takes over the town that previously belonged to Hurin. These easterlings, however, doesn't dare to touch the house of Morwen, his wife, because they believe she is a witch. And so Turin and his (then) unborn sister Lalaith grows up in a town of loneliness and constant fear for the easterlings. Some time later Morwen decides to send Turin over the mountain to the King of Doriath, hoping that he will take Turin in and raise him. His sister is born right after Turin left, then Morwen and Lailaith decides to go after Turin to Doriath. But when they come there Turin is gone because he accidentially killed an Elf and therefore fears the wrath of the elf king Thingol. And so Lalaith and Morwen grows weary in the city of Doriath, not knowing if Turin is safe they decide to go after. Morwen and Lalaith then meets the dragon Glauring that erases the memory of Lalaith, leaving her with nothing. Now she is a wild woman with no memory of her past and Turin does not know he has a sister.

Sounds like a lost Greek Myth.
