Actually Guns were being invented as early as the 14th century by the Chinese they were called Hand cannons... Now go to sleep you have school in the morning.

And the hand cannons couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 10 feet away. gunpowder in China was mainly used for fireworks, and a little bit in the armies for intimidation but couldn't kill anyone well. It wasn't until the technology went to the Janissaries in the Ottoman Empire that they were extensively used in battle effectively and it wasn't until the professional armies of England and France that firearms would make up the bulk of the military. learn2history

They did make trading agreements with whitey in exchange for their fancy boomsticks which were then used to massacre other tribes they didn't like. Just saying if you want to play the innocent victim card, every culture has committed their fair share of atrocities.

I always saw it as: A person or group who uses fear as a weapon to further goals not supported by the majority population. That's what I see a terrorist as.

scalping was a terror tactic. so was war paint. and raiding settlements.i suppose you can make the argument this was done to further the cause of removing whites

Scalping was started by white people.
There were bounties on natives and you had to bring a scalp back in order to get paid, natives did it back as revenge.

Almost anything involving war causes terror. The true definition of terrorism is using fear as the weapon as opposed to causing fear as a result of war.

The whole "we're the real terrorists" argument is ********. Ethics aside, we don't achieve our goals with terror, we achieve them with military might. If we defeat a country we do so by defeating their military.

Whether or not you agree with them, the natives operate as terrorists. They would attempt to make whites leave their land by raiding and mutilating settlers to deter them from settling further.

Natives didn't kill and murder settlers. They weren't those big bad indians you saw in the movies. There were in fact VERY few tribes that took militant opposition towards settlement. (Yet they gave them one hell of a time, which is certainly something to consider when you realize there was a council of many tribes that decided against war, though they had the numbers to wage one.)

Native people are by all means victims, even to this day. I recommend looking into it further as there is not enough correct information to be gained by a simple FJ *********. It is a very multilayered problem, but there is not a single doubt that they are victims.

And as for the, "We're the real terrorists" argument, I strongly believe this to be true.

Fear as result of war. The problem here is that you are extremely vague as to what fear as a weapon means. As fear cannot be used to stab or burn someone, but it can certainly be used to make a populous act in a certain way., both as a result of war and not.
US has used assassination, has used threats, has killed innocent people, has mutilated people. They do all these things yet it is not terrorism because it is wartime? Then by that logic, the native tribes that raided settlers were not terrorists because it too was war.
I do respect your opinion, however much I disagree, and am not making an attempt to instigate a *********. This is simply my own observation, you can do with it what you like.

Terrorism is using militiant force to further political means.

America did exactly that. "wiping out villages, raping, pillaging, poisoning, destroying food sources" to further the settlement. A political goal. By definition America were terrorists.

And furthermore, America remains a terrorist country to this day. Waacing its big dick around frightening middle eastern countries for no just cause.

Quite a few tribes signed treaties and to this today have their own land, they also continue to buy more land and remain as sovereign nations recognized by the united states government, canadian government as well as others.

When it came down to it we did what we could and as bad as the outcome was it could have been much worse.

i'm from deadwood SD i'm always getting Lakota telling me i stole my house and property but the funny thing is they stole it from the Cheyenne tribe in the 1770's and the stole it from the Kiowa tribes a few hundred years earlier and each time the would kill the and desecrate the warriors and elderly scalping them and desecrating their bodies and rape or enslave the women and children and they would do this by pretending to be allied one day then just changing their minds and attacking how is that any diffrent from what we did

the blackfoot tribe. i also have other mixed heritage but i felt someone should stand up for my ancestors since the general way of thinking around here is if something happens to someone they musta had it coming. low and behold that way of thinking has peeked through since there have been people who said well the indians didn't fight back hard enough when they fought back as hard as they could given the circumstances... as for it coulda been worse had it been the chinese or the dutch or blah blah.. i wouldn't have been too sure about the chinese since early american settlers practically enslaved them too so they could build the rail roads. the dutch didn't really care enough about this side of the world untill after the colonies had been established and even then they just cared if they could make money from this part of the world.

what do you mean 2 different types of native americans? there were many many tribes, some were wiped out into near if not total extinction
