For starters the penny is far past pointless by now. And secondly he's still on the $5

that's what they said about the half cent but we have done just fine sense removing it.

penny also costs twice as much as it's worth to make.
User avatar #126 to #125 - darthtomale (02/26/2013) [-]
if we just round to the nearest 5 or 0 it wont be an issue. there are countries that have already dont it with no problems.

Might as well retire all money and go electronic
User avatar #71 to #62 - darthtomale (02/26/2013) [-]
we could but that would require everyone to have a bank account to do any sort of transaction. Even if it's just a vending machine.
User avatar #65 to #62 - propanex (02/26/2013) [-]
yeah, that couldn't back fire in anyway

Yah I mean it's not like we have anything at all similar in place already.
And it's not like removing the penny won't cause a shit storm of it's own or anything.

Do you not realize the absolute lack of privacy that would exist if we went to an all electronic system?
#171 to #104 - kmichel ONLINE (02/26/2013) [-]
I was just thinking about this yesterday. Everything you buy would be track-able and the information could be stored and collected. I feel that humans need the feeling that they have privacy in the things they do to function well in a society. I believe that as you take away humans' freedom to commit all wrongs (for example, putting speed regulators on all cars so that speeding is impossible), and freedom to privacy, you'll create mental illness among the population and generations of irresponsible adults.

Hey, that's great. Except that already happens . Despite what you might think, no one keeps thousands of dollars under their matress.

It resolves more problems than it causes.
Its essentially the same system was have now, where most people opt to use credit or debit cards over cash.
It wouldn't be easy obviously, but it solves so many problems that the resources needed to hammer out the details would be much lower than the problems that paper money creates.

You said that two hours ago retard.
Why don't you actually spend 2 minutes to come up with a real argument instead of saying "herp, derp, u r wrong" that is, assuming you have the capability to say anything besides "no", and "good night".

You said "actually spend 2 minutes to come up with a real argument"
There was no argument. I don't care about the penny thing because it's none of my concern at the moment. You have also explained me being a "retard" because I can't say anything else other than "no" and "Good night". (If only you can quote better)
I don't recall me saying "no" but I do recall saying "Good night" in a nice gesture, which you took office to because you have a low tolerance to "hate". (no, you didn't say hate, it's a quote from the Internet which has formed it's own community) "Because you care.". You do understand that means I only reply with "Good night" and "Ignorance isn't always bliss." because you care, not because I have nothing more to say. This is all explained by obvious social skills which normal people in America learn, meaning they don't care 2 shits about what you care about. If you actually think people don't reply because they care then you are the dullard you claim me to be. I may have a slower brain capacity, but I haven't sleep in over 26 hours, thanks to my addiction to the Internet. If you really want an argument, do it with someone that cares about the topic, you know better than to reply.
