I would not count the Danish prime minister in this. She did not get elected by the people, but because of election rules.
Her party got the least amount of votes ever!
To create government in Denmark, you need more than half the mandates. The left wing parties just got together to create that, and she just happened to be their candidate.
So to all the dear women who count her as someone to look up to. Please don't, she is terrible.

same with Canada, first Woman PM won not through general elected, but by party elected when Prime Minister resigned from politics. She is also shortest PM by 6 months. so short that she never have chance to sit in Parliament as Prime Minister, because it was summer holiday then election soon after.
