I'm going to guess that the Catholic Church will probably come around to accept birth control and gay marriage eventually. One of the most important things that Catholic schools teach is that times change and sometimes doctrine have to change as well.

Oh jeez...

From an ex-Catholic that actually read their official positions, Catholics have nothing wrong with gays. As far as abortion goes, most of their explanation for it has nothing to do with religion. They logically contend that it is against their moral principles and therefor they are against it.

People think so many false ideas about both of those ideas. If they legitimately questioned the church, they'd go read their official statements or talk to a high-level religious figure in the church. This goes for just about every religion. but ESPECIALLY Christianity.

No it won't, if it does, it has failed. We don't change our doctrine or the original interpretation, that we let it evolve is different. It'll never completely change, and the catholic church supports NFP as an alternative to contraception and has plenty of reason to disallow gay marriage in it's faith.

Those things will not change. It's what separates that church from all of the other 40,000 Christian denominations.

I don't see how they can keep it up really, a religion that says its main goal is peace continuously fighting? It always makes me laugh how the whole "love thy neighbour" and all of that peace and tolerance talk seems to get forgotten when they disagree with something. Surely its the christian way to try and help people who need it rather than say "you're different, its weird, go away" (Direct quite that from the pope on the subject of gays and stuff)
