MFW i dont know what Adderall is...

please dont hurt me.

It's like legal steroids for students. Its meant for kids with ADD/ADHD to make em pay attention better. Normal kids who take it are able to learn really good.

Example: I have an APUSH test tomorrow and i'm on funnyjunk. But It's ok because I take adderall.

It's a medication used to treat ADHD. It contains amphetamine, which is a stimulant, so college students have been using it without a prescription to stay awake for cram sessions.
User avatar #188 to #187 - ktbmnf (02/22/2013) [-]
that.... makes sense. but isnt it illegal to use drugs such as these without a prescription? i dont get out much.
User avatar #190 to #188 - RequieminMortis (02/22/2013) [-]
It's a Schedule II drug, so it's illegal to even possess it without a prescription.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in the first grade, and I'm sorry but you people are the reason why many times I am incapable of receiving my medication. I take vyvanse to help control myself and it works great for me, but widespread abuse has led to it being a controlled medication. Because of this, The amount my doctor can prescribe to me at one time is very limited, and can only be itemsistered through a direct prescription every so often. It can occur where I run out of my medication and my doctor can't prescribe it to me because he gave it recently.
TL;DR: You guys make it hard for people that actually need meds to get them
User avatar #148 - divinecreator (02/22/2013) [-]
I've noticed that people who think ADD/ADHD is ******** dont have ADD/ADHD. How can you expect to relate/be knowledgeable about a condition that you dont have/know little about?
#151 to #148 - anonymous (02/22/2013) [-]
It's simple. Put the fear of death on them and I guarantee the ******* will focus and pay attention real quick.
User avatar #155 to #151 - divinecreator (02/22/2013) [-]
im one of those " ******* " and the "fear of death thing" didnt work for me nor does it for alot of people with add/adhd

Or when you have diagnosed A.D.H.D. use it legally, and it doesn't have this effect on you at all.

Yeah, I take 70mg of vyvanse every day and it just does not do a damn thing. I wouldn't expect adderall to be all it's cracked up to be. At least not for me.
User avatar #197 to #173 - crownofroses (02/22/2013) [-]
I remember testing the dosage for Vyvanse. I started on 70 milligrams, THAT **** WAS TOO MUCH. I was asked to put together a chair from Ikea and literally started crying.
User avatar #175 to #173 - srslyjakecease (02/22/2013) [-]
Specifically i too have vyvance: Its essentialy the same medicine is how i understand it from my doctor, but eh. Still changed my life.

You know American Society is ****** up when there a straight A+ Honor students who haven't had as much as a beer with there dad are resulting to snorting pharmacological cocaine to adhere to this ******** society that expects our population to regurgitate information with nearly no real world application that a large percentage of students will forget in a years time.

inb4 i am underachieving **** up

**** it. My future does not include further schooling outside of high school. And neither is poverty. If i **** up in life ill simply live in the woods like a Native American. Hell after a few years the reservations will most likely take me in.

I think everyone had a cause they care deeply for. For me its opposing lobotomizing drugs. ADHD and ADD are weird. And personally i think there full of **** . Kids weren't being diagnosed with this **** in the 50s? This is the first time in history were "being a little **** " is a medical condition.

I was diagnosed with adhd(I've grown out of it) and I was prescribed adderal, but when I took it, I was completely focused and extremely organized. But I think ADD is more viable that ADHD. ADHD most often is just a hyper little **** . I know I was.
#154 to #117 - anonymous (02/22/2013) [-]
Some kids are nuts though and need this medication. We are at the mercy of our doctors as to whether it is prescribed responsibly.

Believe me though that mental illness does exist. There are people who need antidepressants. There are some people that require electro-shock therapy or lithium pills.

When you experience mental illness in your own mind, its existence becomes indisputable. A piece inside your head that you can't control, that is illogical, and that is entirely separate from the rest of your being. Or a dark cloud that hangs over you, smothering you.

In my experience, as a child diagnosed with a delightfully ****** up brain chemistry cocktail (I.E. ADHD, ADD later on, Severe Depression, and Bi-polar. (And self diagnosed: Mad. Don't know if it counts as schizo, but you know, I hear and see things every now and again.), ADHD seems to be used by psychiatrists as a handout to neurotic, paranoid, and overprotective mothers as a "Doctor's" explantion of why their child is behaving like a child. I was slammed onto a mountain range of medication from 3rd grade until I was a Senior in high school. It ****** me sideways, backwards, forwards, up and down I think. Like, I never heard or saw things until I was in high school but then I started hearing voices when no one else was home and there is no tv or computer or whatever turned on. Seeing....moving shadows with yellow eyes when I drive every now and again. Aside from possible slips in sanity, all those meds ****** you. Royally. I don't know if you've had any encounters with medication regimens, but it's not fun.

The theory behind putting kids on these meds seems to be "HEY. HE'S DEPRESSED. He might kill himself because depression makes him volatile enough to break and do that! So let's fix him by putting him on a drug that makes him feel nothing! Yeah! No more volatility, but still depressed or even more so than before! PROBLEM SOLVED. BEST. DOCTOR. EVER. Award!" Or "Hey! He's hyperactive! Let's give him a drug that will make him feel no energy ever! In fact, one that also causes weight gain! Oh and that also makes him depressed, so we can put him on that other depression medication as well!!" I'm sure there are studies they can reference to back them up, but no child should be put through that **** . It ****** me up. I harbor a hatred for any and all forms of "Doctors" that prescribe psychiatric meds now.

I don't even know if this counts as being relevant, but it felt good to get it off my chest, even if it's on FJ and it'll get me buried in red thumbs.
#123 to #117 - cheesynipples (02/22/2013) [-]
personally, I think add adhd are legitimant things but far often people do use it as an excuse for their ****** kids

O i have no doubt they actually exist. But they are horribly over diagnosed. There are a plethora of stories out there of people that had adderall when they were younger and completely lost all motivation in life and its persisting well into there 20s.

I like Adderall but it doesn't help me to focus at all
>Super euphoric feeling
>Always thirsty
>Get frustrated really easily
Thats all that really happens to me when I take Adderall, I have no problem sleeping or eating though.
User avatar #108 - bukey (02/22/2013) [-]
got an unlimited supply because i have ADHD which i think is ******** i dont act out when im not on it but it makes me extremely motivated and gets me good grades so yay adderal
