I ******* hate Bungie now. Not because they are involved with PS4
(Even though it's a little off-putting)
but since they abandoned Halo, every one seems to hate 343 Industries for "Stealing it from them" And everyone still seems to be on Bungie's dick even though they abandoned one of the most iconic game series' of all time. It's like if a parent give up child for adoption and another parent adopts that kid, and turns out a success. Then the first parent get's the praise instead of the parent that actually did something.
TL:DR Bungie is an ass. My jimmies are rustled. I'm gonna get red thumbs.

I personally think 343 has really done wonders with the series. I love them.

Bungie didn't 'give up' Halo. Every since they signed with MS to make Halo: CE they knew they were only going to be able to make a certain amount of Halo games before handing it over to new developers. They didn't abandon it, they had no choice. It was in a contract.

1. Nothing wrong with wanting to do something else after working on the same franchise for years and years.
2. Bungie isn't trying to claim credit, so I have no idea why you would blame them for it. In fact they put out a video for the sole purpose of highlighting that they are not involved with the current Halo series and that people are mistaking them for the creators.
3. There is nothing wrong with a company that has been privately held for years to develop for multiple consoles. It would be really stupid not to. Being annoyed that more people get to enjoy a game is retarded.
4. I don't even like Halo or Bungie.
5. See ya.

they didn't want to overdo; hand it off to someone else who might see it a different way and improve upon it.

Bungie didn't want to be under the control of Microsoft anymore, but Microsoft wouldn't let them out of their contract unless they left the rights to Halo behind. It's not like anyone would want to give up one of the best series in the history of gaming, but they were tired of being a one trick pony. Also, Halo 4 is beautiful in terms of graphics, but I have a few qualms with what 343 did with the story and the gameplay. In the campaign, my complaints include what they did to Cortana (and by that I mean her appearance and personality, not what actually happens to her), having the edges of the helmet on the screen the whole freaking time, and the little animations and quicktime-esque sequences throughout. For multiplayer, the game just doesn't feel as fun as before. Everything is just too rushed all the time and most of the levels are too claustrophobic. If I wanted to be constantly running and hiding behind corners, I'd be playing COD. I hate stealth. We're supposed to be super soldiers who eats bullets for breakfast. It should take more than 2 seconds to kill someone with a basic weapon. They also made rockets, fuel rods, and grenades pathetically weak in comparison to previous games by greatly reducing blast radius and they made the Warthog rediculously light and way too easy to flip. I'm also really hoping we don't see a return of the Prometheans in the next game. The new enemies are frustrating and the weapons are mostly unbalanced and/or useless. Also the maps are much more restrictive and have a lot less polish in areas off of the beaten path than in previous games. It's a problem that I first noticed in the Reach map packs and it's carried over to Halo 4. It makes forge a much less enjoyable experience. I'm not giving up on 343 yet, but Bungie's looking a lot more promising to me at the moment.

1) Bungie knew that they didn't want to make more halo. It would be more of a money whore than anything.
2) In Halo: Reach there's an Easter egg called the tribute room which is a testament to the fans of Halo. Bungie took time to acknowledge their fans and everything the fans did for them. Bungie is far from being an ass.
3) 343 is consisted mostly of people who used to work for Bungie and know what needs to be in halo
4) Have you not seen this?

The key word is good. Not great.
Halo 3 was the last great halo game. ODST was pretty good, so was reach, and halo 4, but Like someone else said, there is only so much you can do with one franchise.
Once a game has so many installments it either ends up straying from what attracted so many people to it in the first place (like halo, for me at least) or you don't change and people get bored (CoD).
I look forward to Destiny. I really want to see what Bungie can do outside of halo.

Bungies been with Halo for a long time and they felt like they needed to move on. And I don't blame them, Media Molecule left Little Big Planet in capable hands and so did Bungie. I don't think you can blame them for wanting to try something different.

If this "Destiny" game ends up half as good as it looks right now, I'll most likely forgive them for handing Halo over to 343 (who, admittedly, did nothing wrong with Halo 4. Could it have been better? Perhaps, but Spartan Ops certainly made up for any of it, in my opinion.)
I agree that this sudden revelation of Bungie working on PS4 stuff is concerning, though.
Also, while 343 hasn't killed Halo like most people seem to want to believe, one must admit that Halo's golden age was when Bungie was in command. Especially, for me, the good old days of Halo 3 matchmaking.

I just looked up a bunch of stuff Destiny. I'm so damn excited for this game. More than Halo 4, which I was off the wall for.
I think 343 did a really good job on Halo 4 though. The matchmaking reminds me of a mix of Halo 2 and Halo 3 (my two favorites, Halo 2 being the favorite) and the campaign had me guessing the whole time and then there's Spartan Ops I mean come on. Damn good show if you ask me.

I don't know. Halo 4 is probably my favorite game to date, and I've been playing Halo since the beginning. But I also mean campaign-wise. I cried at that ending, and not just because I'm a betafag. And the visuals were beyond stunning. Those cutscenes? Gorgeous. Graphics don't make the game, but it definitely made it wonderful to play.

I certainly loved Halo 4's campaign and it's ending, especially when [REDACTED] (no spoilers here, no siree). It was sad, yes- immensely so, but 343 pulled it off in an amazing way. I have just got to say, though, that I enjoyed Halo 3's visual style more, and for me it also has more memories attached. I simply will not be able to ever recreate them with Halo 4, no matter how much I try, and so Halo 3 will remain in a special place for me. That being said, Halo 4 is remarkable much in the way that Halo Combat Evolved was; it's the beginning of something new. Not quite as much as Combat Evolved, but Halo 4 marks the beginning of a new era of Halo, for better or worse.

You're right. The memories on Halo 3 are the best memories of my life. But gameplay-wise and story-wise, Halo 4 is the bread to my butter.

And so if you liked 343's take on the Halo series, why be so mad that Bungie's moved on to make another (possibly great) game? I prefer to think of it as bungie was being stifled by working on the same thing for so long, and so passed it onto a new group with new ideas, so that they could control their own destiny (pun intended)

Makes sense. Although, honetly, I think the whole "it isn't halo because bungie didn't make it" group is more in the minority, and a lot of people think it's a really good game

I've seen more of it than not. But maybe you're right. The fact of the matter is, Halo 4 is great, I'm anxious to see what 343 does with the series, and I guess I was too quick to say "I hate Bungie". I hope Destiny is a success, and I hope I'll like it enough to want to buy it.

Bungie didn't abandon Halo. They were tired of making the same game series they worked on for ten years straight. They wanted to free themselves to work on other things so they gave Halo to microsoft and went their own way. Now they didn't abandon it aswell for giving it to 343. 343 has done a fantastic job with Halo 4. Although some parts should be fixed, it is still a really fun game. Don't hate on Bungie because they were working on this for 10 years and were under microsoft (xbox only) control. I am pretty sure it was a very VERY hard decision to leave microsoft and give the rights away from halo.

It's not the abandoning that I'm concerned about, it's the fact that people think Halo 4 is trash because it wasn't made by Bungie. Instead of looking at the beauty of the game, they look at the few faults the game has and say sarcastically "Thanks 343!" Or "343 ruined Halo!" or other outrageous remarks.

I think there is only so much you can do with one franchise, especially if it's an fps. I like developers who are interested in making something they love, instead of being forced into making another fps.

But Destiny is another fps. I don't see what the point of it all is. And honestly, good riddance. I'm just saying people don't give 343 enough credit. They did an astounding job on Halo 4. I still play it every day. But most people's logic is "If it wasn't made by Bungie, it isn't Halo" So instead they hate.

That's the people I deal with AKA almost all the competitive players who played Halo 2 and expect every single Halo to be identical in every last way.
