The thing was the older shows were more risky and clever. Take this show (Samurai Jack) it was a kids show constantly showing a warrior cutting things into peaces despite being for all ages. It made plenty of hidden adult jokes and drew from mythology and actual fighting styles. Say what you may but this was an excellent show.
Most people idolize their childhood memories. If we had watched Adventure Time as kids, we'd be saying AT is the shit

if you think about it,that's one fucked up thing to say to a little kid....crushing his dreams and shit...
It's called getting older ya fuck faces. Quit bitching that the shows on a childrens channel aren't as good as they used to be. It's because YOU'RE not their target audience.
That may be true, but Cartoon Network will never, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEER be as good as Toonami.

I don't really get the point of bitching about this, I was an early 90s kid and I'm over 20 now, of course I don't watch CN, I'm not the target audience for a kid channel anymore.
If I was a kid nowadays I would probably love these new shows, I have a little brother who does that.
If you think about it, really old cartoons were a lot better than the 90s cartoons too (objectively), Top Cat, The scooby doo show and Fred Flintstone had a lot better quality than shows like "ed, edd and eddy", "cow and chicken" and "I am weasel", but kids in the 70s and 80s didn't have internet to go to when they wanted to complain and whine about new cartoons like we do today.
This is even worse than people who complain about music nowadays, at least the music is somewhat targeted to you and not kids.

You guys do realize that's just the way things work? Popularity of different types of television shows fades when a new generation comes around. Those who liked Scooby Doo thought the original Pokemon was idiotic when we thought it was the best thing in the world. Our own tastes rarely change because we associate those television shows with childhood, the best time of our lives in most cases. Just because the new generation is building associations with different television shows, doesn't mean they're wrong for doing so.
