All zombie movies/TV shows take place in an alternate universe where the word "Zombie" doesn't exist. Their society has no concept of a zombie. The reason? Think about it. Everyone today has a theoretical zombie plan. We all have thought about it. Hell, the government even has a plan of action in the event of zombies. So if they never existed in popular fiction, then society as a whole would be completely unprepared and thus, more susceptible to an apocalyptic scenario.

Kind of like how The Doctor seems to travel to a world where half the world isn't obsessed with Doctor Who?

the creator actually said that the George Romero zombie never appeared in The Walking Dead universe's popular culture, so they can't relate the walkers to movie zombies.

He might be naturally bald or shit. And Woodbury has power and shit, I don't doubt they have common hygiene supplies, especially if you consider they've gotten so advanced in terms of being a sturdy community that they gave Milton all of those stuff to reseach walkers.


What really got me is Tyreese's group being almost completely disarmed, like no tools or weapons besides for like baseball bats and hammers, but they still manage to survive despite nearly everyone else including the military and such has mostly been wiped out.

Just because there is a zombie apocalypse going on,that does not mean you don't have to shave, never know when that special guy comes along, since there are not many of them there anymore (breathing ones that is) it's necessary to be prepared!!
