Its not like you could play every other game, cause they didnt require an internet connection just to be able to play, unlike shitty games like now...

Alright, so here's something that's going to seem foreign to some of you younger people. In 1996 I was 16. We had an internet cafe down the street from where I worked. It was 20.00 an hour for internet, dial up slow shitty internet that we though was amazing. Slow 33kb speeds.

When ICQ started, I picked up an account in the low 100's, aka one of the first instant chat messaging accounts. A few weeks later there were people from everywhere on it. I was in a chat room and someone from Ireland was in there. We had a reasonable conversation, nothing mean, nothing rude. The guy sitting next to me said "This is cool as shit but this fad will fade soon"

In 1997 my then girlfriend (now wife of almost 16 years) and I moved into our first home. We got internet for the first time and it was such a big deal, our new neighbors came over and "ohhhh ahhhd" and the marvel before them. We were the first in that neighborhood to have internet and paid a giant 45.00 a month. Worth it, I could read the news and chat with people in foreign places and... nothing else.

Oh, here's another fun one. We bought a Pionex computer off QVC with our tax money. in 98 I think. My wife didn't want it with windows 98 because we were use to windows 3.1. Specs? Found them luckily.

Intel Pentium II
64MB RAM
6.4 GB hard drive
56K voice modem
3.5" floppy disk drive.

Found the pic on QVC or some shit, not my pic. same computer, I bought it on QVC. One very last thing. I remember the first time I seen profanity in a chat room. It was on Yahoo and some guy called another guy "cock sucker" and I about shit. Because shit like that didn't happen online. Profanity, on the internet?!?! Unheard of. Chat rooms didn't have rooms full of people trying to be more of a cunt than the last.

tl;dr= kids today, fuck. +I'm old.

I still go back to this wonderful game. Never been so happy that our school is so outdated, although XP is a great operating system...
