That is actually illegal. That is discrimination against people of a certain political party.

Political affiliation is not protected by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which covers workplace discrimination. Title VII only prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.

THAT is actually not illegal especially in specific states. For example, North Carolina, It is a Right-to-work state which gives many freedoms to the employees AND to the bosses. Yes they can fire you for pretty much any reason they want to along with the claim that you are performing poorly, most arent going to fire unless you actually do suck but they are still allowed to have other reasons. BUT along with their freedoms you get some of your own, you can quit whenever you want unannounced, like just not show up to work again. It isnt recommended because it does make you look bad but you are still allowed to.

It's technically a federal crime if you think about it. State laws don't matter in other words.

"That is actually illegal?" Me and my fiance's income is roughly 104k combined at the moment, and we are the poorest in our family; both of our families have respectively (larger) small businesses. They don't have to fire them for political views, they can fire them for ANY slip up, ANY mistake, and they have the RIGHT to choose who THEY pay.
People like you might just forget yourself. They don't have to say what they might really be firing them for, I know that for a fact. Obama has hurt our families a good deal, and when we can return to a free-market, Laissez-faire environment, the better off we will be.

A free market may benefit you but it 9 times out of 10 leads to economic polarization of a country, thinning out the middle class even more. Its the last thing America needs

Except the letter precisely said that his reasons for firing people were their bumper stickers, not their performances. It's also in writing, so at least bad management can be punished

Does that make it any less funny?
User avatar #3 to #2 - jewsburninindaoven (02/20/2013) [-]
yes. significantly less funny. people are losing their jobs because of something completely irrelevant to their performance. what's funny about that?

In the letter he said he didnt know who to fire .
He obviusly has thought of their performance first .
And he then procided to chooce by other stardards ... and what better standard that to fire the guys that voted for the guy that was the fault for having them fired in the first place .
Its a life lesson . Not that Romney would have done any better .
But you must live with your decisions .
Also , its his company , he can do what ever he wants with it .
My family has a small bussiness . And when and IF i ever take it over , i
want to be able to choose my employes by my standards .
Me being the racist pig that i am , i want all of them to be Greek .
(even thought i have a legit reason .. you know .. 30% Unemployment is good enough reason for me to choose only Greeks)
That been said and all . The post is probably fake .

So, I've already concluded you're an Obama supporter. I didn't mean to make anyone feel offended. I just found it funny in general.
I can see what you're saying though. I would be pretty mad if it was me. Point proven.
