I enjoyed the movie. I was in a play of the Hobbit last year as Gandalf and I read the book in order to get a better idea of the story. The dwarves did go to Rivendell, though, but I guess from the Mouth's false assumption that the Hobbit bombed, the Mouth really doesn't know what he's talking about.
