Both patterns describe an invisible triangle, that can mean that there are two invisible triangle. If you take from one pacman to another, you will get a triangle. Your mind forms triangle from the smaller triangle. Therefore you get "The star of david". You can see it, but it does not exist in the image. Therefore you mind makes you see it take form. Even though it does not exist in the picture.
