I wouldn't say Eminem is the "father" of rap, I would say Ice Cube was, he was the first to write about crime and use "nigga" in songs. Try to find a good rap song that doesn't talk about either of those things. I would put Eminem in my top 5 though.

I always laugh at some point throughout the song.

Eminem himself has dozens of great songs that aren't about crime, and he never said nigga in any of his songs. I do agree eminem isn't rap's father, although he is my personal favorite. I just found this picture was suiting

ASAP is good, but I still prefer Kendrick over him.. from the new rappers. Logic is sick!
Snoop in his prime was pretty good too. DRE has always been decent at rap and better at producing. Even though Yelawolf looks weird as fuck, and despite his shit song of "pop the trunk", he's shows potential due to his ability to spit quick and rhyme slick.

Well he mentions a form a crime in all of his songs, whether it's smoking weed or killing someone.
And by the way, he almost says it in "Criminal"
"I drink more liquor to fuck you up quicker
Than you'd wanna fuck me up for saying the word (nigger)"
He doesn't actually say it, I just thought I'd mention it though.

true, he does say something crime related in a lot of his songs. But many of his songs (Halie's song, Not afraid, No love, When I'm gone, You're never over, ect) don't mention those, and most of his songs dont surround crime as the main theme. I personally think no matter the theme, good rap is defined by the soul and meaning behind it. I personally think eminem is the greatest of all time, but then again I haven't heard every rapper. It's all opinion really, who is the "best"
Yeah that's true. Everything off Recovery is horrible though.
In Hallie's Song -
"So here's what I'm facin':
3 felonies, 6 years of probation
I've went to jail for this woman,
I've been to bat for this woman
I've taken bats to people's backs, bent over backwards for this woman"
